This shit worth it?

Been storing my holdings on a paper wallet , any of you fags have experience with this and know if it’s any good?

ledgers are for reddit. biz uses ngrave

Dogtags with simple (as in you can solve it with pen and paper) password based encrypted 12 word seed phrase engraved master race.

Basically the safest option besides cold storage. As long as you aren't retarded and get one of those "scratch here for your seed words" scam ones.

one malicious firmware update and it's fully compromised. use MyCrypto with an airgrapped computer and store the wallets on encrypted USB drives instead.

I think they are a net positive for absolute brainlets who use Windows 10 and browse tranny porn on the same machine with javascript enabled.

How many fucking times
Holy fuck
Its a fucking scam for blockchain literates
Learn how easy it is to make your own hardware wallet with only a usb drive or a micro sd card

It would be to hard use in real life. I use ledger for one simple reason - it let's me interact with crypto safely. Yes, you could store your private key in a USB. Yes, you could use a paper wallet. Yes, you could memorise your seed. But all of these would make it impossible to use your crypto safely.

no just store it in a smart contract

>discord gg/WtYAWX

>Hey, uncle Joe, just make your own hardware wallet! Are you stupid, or something? Lel.

This is adoption.

Ledger is a solid investment. If you have any skin in the game, and want your shit to be hassle-free, this is the way to go.

Where does atomic wallet fall in this?

major advantage of a trezor is the built in capability of using shamir secret sharing. basically what this does is if you were to forget your pin, lose your trezor, or have it destroyed, you have minimum threshold of secrets needed to recreate the key. for instance a 3 of 4 scheme. the nice part is unless you have you the required # secrets to complete the scheme, the individual secrets reveal nothing about the other secrets, this is an advantage to say just splitting a 24 word secret into 4 parts. once one part is found the security is reduced.

so now you can store these secrets in otherwise unsecure places like on the cloud or somewhere more public.

Trezor also lets you use a 25th passphrase so even if all these secrets were compromised, a 25th word or phrase which only is in your head can still protect your keys. you can also set up fake wallets with only part of your stash to protect against a $5 hammer attack.

Why would anyone with an ounce of brain willingly download and install malicious malware that comes from 3rd party sources?

biz does not deserve this btw

the point of it is your private keys never get exposed directly to your computer that is connected to the internet. You need custom hardware to do this, not just a storage device

I made 10 eth recently from uniswap due to the accessibility of my eth funds using a ledger. It's so esay to interact with metamask and uniswap due to having one of these. Any idiot on biz that tells you to use paper wallet when they are literally the same thing is a retard.

I own like 7 of them, never had a problem with it.

Outdated garbage

Personally, and I feel Im admiting too much. I put my .json on a usb and put that in a safe

someone in the company could modify an update, it happens

nigga some rando could just hop on ur pc metamask to retrieve seed
or just send all funds somewhere if wallet is unlocked,
seed never touches web with hardware wallet

>provides no proof.

Just to face criminal charges and years in jail? Unlikely.

>What is google
Dyor faggot

Crypto can be hard. You can self pwn yourself by being too secure by thinking youll keep a passowrd in your head and forgeting it etc. Or you could write the seed down in too many places and someone could find it, Risk managment is 50% of this game, most dont seem to know it.

brainlet

imagine dropping ur phong
imagine not having a password on trust wallet
imagine nigga stealing all ur funds

>ngrave
there is nothing special about ngrave unless you want to split hairs.

not worth it if you compare it to a paper wallet for cold store no.

How is ledger with android? I only have an aged ThinkPad with linux that I rarely use and do most stuff from a phone these days. I looked at reviews of the associated wallet app thing for a nano and it seemed negative for non windows versions.

anyone store their paper wallet in a safe outside their home?

wtf a phone?! no dude, you take it somewhere and lose it, someone takes it, just no.

For the vast majority of people, Ledgers are king. So easy to manage, very secure and streamlined with Metamask to make it easy to transfer your tokens.

I get the concern about hacks but Metamask won't even let a transaction go through without the hardware plugged in.

I looked into the encrypted USB thing but it seemed like a whole load of hoops to jump through to basically do the same thing a Ledger does.

Every storage method has a risk to it - store your seed in a few places, minimise risk

Use a fucking paper you monkey retard

Yep. This. Mine works fine. Worried about malicious exploits? Don't update your firmware till you are sure.

if it aint broke dont fix it

Also there are people in this thread right now who are worried about exploits but use windows 10 on a daily basis
