Doesn't matter if you randomly bought the right stock or randomly bought in at the right time. It's still luck (at least it is for 95%+ of retail investors).
A lot of the popular normie/ robinhood meme stocks have been performing very well recently which has resulted in more brainlets making a lot of money than usual. There will be periods where popular trades (e.g. longing Tesla with call options/ tons of leverage) will make the brainlet masses lose money too.
It all evens out in the end.
Long term for every degenerate who turns 3k into 150k by gambling on options there will be >50 degenerates who lose their 3k by gambling on options. You obviously don't hear about any of the people who lose their 3k in the news, you only hear about the people who succeed. That's why it feels like everyone is making money.

He didn’t, forex scams are one of the UKs biggest social media epidemics. Literally fucking thousands of them. Fake accounts, rented lifestyle (cars, Airbnb’s, credit cards) and they sell you a dream. They don’t actually have any skin in the markets either, you usually have to deposit to their broker who will pay out a fat commission, usually around £200 a student. Really not hard to lure in desperate people with the ‘you can make so much money from your phone with 10 mins a day’.

There’s so many of them it’s unbelievable, but the best one is a bloke called Joshante (Instagram username). He claims he is the best trader yet defrauded hundreds of thousands out of his victims years ago. Still trades on a shitty MT4 terminal to this day and ‘scalps’ the market. Claims he could walk into a hedge fund tomorrow but prefers not too. Reckon he will be on Forbes 30 under 30. Takes ‘mental health breaks’ every time he blows his clients accounts up
