If this is like the nvt token (which is in nuls but also created an erc20 bridge, will there ever be a reason for this to move to a higher value per token relative to the vechain version? Or will it stay tied to it?

If you use bridge you won't get the erc20 HAI. It would only be used for liquidity. So the price on ERC20 would be separate to Vechain. Supply and demand. Also the team has purposely only released a limited supply, it's all in the article. They need the ERC 20 token to have good price performance. That's where all the confusion is coming from. It's a bit unfair on the long term Vechain HAI holders in my opinion, but I'm not one of them so that's why I'm in on ERC20 HAI

That's correct 1 HAI is always 1 HAI. The only difference is that one's based on VeChain and the other one is on ETH. Obviously due to the limited supply on ETH and the DeFi use case, the price will be drastically higher. Despite the price difference, both markets caps from the two combined HAI will make up the single "market cap", which is where 1 HAI = 1 HAI saying comes from

I heard if you try to buy from Vechain and bridge it to ETH then you get your tokens locked into liquidity for a large amount of time.

VeChain hai will likely see very little price action in the coming weeks/months, it's ERC20 HAI that will be making all the big moves. It's designed to add "value" to HAI in general, through DeFi etc.
