A basic income would be great but will never happen. Huge parts of the state exists to follow dumb rules and the state employees won't make themselves unemployed.
Right now we need so many people to decide who gets what and how much. You need to write 20 documents, go to the town hall several times, do this, do that, just to get some state benefits. If everyone would just get 1000 dollars a month we could essentially fire 50% of bureaucrats. So this will never happen.
