Can we get a credit card thread going? What's Zig Forums carrying. What do you want to be carrying?
>what are annual fees
it is a Jewish scam
I havnt paid for a flight in 6 years because of my legendary cc cycling
scam.
Credit cards are a Jewish scam, you’re a glownigger data harvester, and I don’t know how credit cards work
owning a cc is retarded, buying stolen cc data on the other hand..
discover student, 5k limit, no annual fees and 1% cashback. kikes wont give me a mastercard or visa cc at usaa cuz i have no income even tho i got a fat stack of crypto
Delta Skymiles Gold. I want to get Platinum but my credit scores aren't good enough yet. No, I don't want unbranded Platinum. I want the miles and status and I don't care about the companion certificate or the Centurion lounge and I don't want to have to use the American Express site because the flights are different than Delta and I don't want to have to only use Marriot and Hilton. People who don't use these cards have no idea what I'm talking about.
Credit cards are a jewish scam, but so is fiat and fiat doesn't give you cash back.
Chase Double Cash Back 2% cash back. Make about $500/month from it. Chase sucks though but it’s worth it.
Since the rest of these faggots won't just answer the thread in a mature way -
Cap One - 500 starter CC (circa 2015)
Cap One - Platinum
Chase - Freedom Unlimited
American Express -Blue Cash Everyday
I sign up to cards when it makes sense and when I can accumulate the sign in bonuses like 1k bonus after spending 15k in 3 months etc.
Credit cards are an easy way to make more money.
Good thread, user. We need more like it
Crypto.com credit card. Jade Green
There are many factors. If you have a limited credit history then you need to start with a basic builder card - low credit limit/ high APR. You need to spend on it but not exceed 25% utilisation then pay off the balance in full each month. Over time, your limit will increase.
This can allow you to grow your credit card to 25k.
Credit cards are another financial tool to provide leverage and security when needed. There are many tricks, such as 0% balance transfers where you basically use your credit card to have an interest free loan.
Don’t listen to retards who say credit is bad
Having a low interest rate credit card and interest free overdraft has allowed me to have over $10,000 to fall back on in times when I did not have liquid cash in the bank.
Crypto.com debit card.
What do you spend $25K a month on?
This. What other card gives 3% back.
Beyond that I've heard the DiscoverIT card is hard to beat.
>You need to spend on it but not exceed 25% utilisation then pay off the balance in full each month.
The utilization is only reported once a month on your due date. You can spend as much as you want per month as long as you A) don't ever exceed the limit and B) you pay it down before the due date.
Also, for building credit a utilization of 10% or less is ideal. So if you have say a 5k limit, buy whatever the fuck you want on it (let's say $2k for the sake of argument) and then a week before your due date pay off $1750, carry that last $250 over to your statement and then right after the statement pay off the rest.
This way you get maximum rewards but as far as the credit agencies are concerned you are only using ~5% of your limit. The only important thing is to make you always have enough in your bank account to cover the credit charges, but there are plenty of apps that let you combine your balances into a single number.
Also for OP, I mainly just use the Costco credit card. No fees (outside of Costco yearly membership), 1% on everything everywhere, 2% for anything at Costco, 4% on gas and food. If you shop at a wholesaler for any considerable amount of your monthly shit (which you should if you like money) then it adds up pretty quick.
I recommend everyone who has gotten less than 5 credit cards in 2 years apply for the Chase Freedom card. It's a quarterly 5% card but also has a special year-long 5% off groceries, it's really good. They're replacing it soon so you better hurry. Sign-up bonus is $200 for $500 spend, which isn't too difficult.
I don’t think this is strictly true. It’s true that credit cards companies report this information to credit reference agencies once a month. However, banks use sophisticated modelling which monitors intra-month utilisation.
All that matters for your credit score is utilization (and if you have any overdue payments or other delinquent shit). Obviously you never want to go balls to the wall overpaying with your card, but I have definitely bought large items with my card, paid the card down the next day and then reaped in the rewards. When I check my credit report the next month utilization is still under 10%.
Source: 28, credit score went from 600 to 760 in the last 5 years with 2 credit cards and that's it.
you weren't supposed to call out his larp by doing math, fag
I guess technically your bank itself might get pissy at you if they see you pushing 80% of your limit at times throughout the month and could lower your limit due to that, but as long as you're paying on time and keeping the reported utilization down it won't matter.
For any newfag just getting their first card, chances are their monthly spending on groceries and shit is gonna be under $1000.
Even with a ~$3k limit on their first card they don't need to be too careful as long as they treat it like a debit and don't spend recklessly.
What are your limits user?
Aren't they releasing the Freedom Flex, which is pretty much a straight upgrade to the Freedom? Why not wait for that?
They're considered distinct products so you could earn both bonuses, and if you have both it's a way to milk the 5% quarterly bonus for all it's worth.
$13.5k on the Costco card, and then I have a fucking Amazon card that refuses to raise above $4k despite my income nearly doubling since I first got it.
Apple Card. I know it’s pointless but I have ADD and it makes it easy for me to pay my bills on time. When I try to explain this to my normal friends they’re like, I pay my credit card online too. I can’t explain it but Apple really cracked the code on ease of use.
Pump and dump piece of shit scam. This thread reeks of vindaloo.
>Chase Ink Plus (discontinued) because 5% back at office stores so I just buy gift cards for whatever (like Amazon) - $95 annual fee
>Amex Blue Cash Preferred because 6% back at grocery stores (up to $360/year + Amex offers) - $59/year
>Discover IT card 5% back, up to $75 per quarter in changing categories, no annual fee
>Chase Freedom exact same as above but different categories
>Bank of America cash rewards 3% back on all online purchases on up to $2500 spend per quarter
>Amex Blue Business card 2x Amex rewards on everything, good for travel
>Like 5 citi cards I downgraded from American Airline cards, have 400k American Airline miles left, haven't paid for a flight in years
>Hyatt card
>IHG card
My credit score is like 780 and I've never had a job. I've also never paid interest.
UK here, have the standard gold amex. Over the 4 years or so I've had it, I've managed to save over £1000 on flights, had a claim on travel insurance, get to sit in airport lounges and dine for free, had a fair few chargebacks that went through seamlessly, get great deals on shopping locally and it's super convenient. Worth the £120 annual fee, easily
