What was it like holding link throughout 2018-2019 during the great crabbing? How bad was the fud?

The FUD was brutal.
t. Sold in Feb 2019 after holding for 18 months
It did not feel like crabbing at all. We had pumps and dumps on a regular basis and much more threads.
Maybe the time now between 12-15 will also be seen as a crab market in 1 year and just Looks like a straight line because price movents of 10usd up and downs will be normal.
It wasn't that bad because most of the time we discussed Link fundamentals and breadcrumbs etc. Now the Sibos dump in October 2017 was extremely brutal, because every other coin mooned while link kept on dumping.
Can confirm, LINK had frequent conference/event hype and price action at a time most other 2017 coins were in constant decline. The biggest FUD came from the monthly one-and-done pump-and-dumps.
Pic for illustration. It never reached the $1.20 high but we mostly laughed at the retards that only bought the top.
Lol I remember being excited when Link mooned from 20 cents to 50 cents.
I still would be. 1.5x gains are way better than single digit percent gains.
Thanks for bringing a bit of perspective in this shitshow
like xrp is today
I'll end up buying some fucking XRP because of all this shilling happening on this board FFS
if u zoomed in u know it wasnt crabbing, it does the same shit as it is doing now.
You see what is currently happening to STA? Same exact thing was happening to LINK back then
I remember swinging thousands of linkies between 3000 and 5000 sats hahahahaa
Hitting 90 cents was amazing, my folio finally started looking like something
From there it's only up and the ride is far far from the end
Kek, weak handed faggot.
>t. Sep 2017 holder
That's 2.5x gains, professor
You will know what its like first hand
FUD was nothing if you DYOR, 2018 was a great time to buy, personally I drained my savings account buying link through out that summer. A lot of us were watching btc moon in 2017, teenagers were millionaires and we were pissed we missed that rocket. Some of us saw link as our last chance to have a life. It was either link moons or suicide.
>naturally, I'm all in
It was honestly brutal
The fud was unending
Stinky linkies were even fudding each other
But real marines had titanium hands and positive thought threads
I bought in 2017, if you thought the FUD was bad you had no idea what you bought.
fud was relentless but most of it was OG linkers trying to scare newfags away but those who did their research and spent enough time on the board could easily tell what was going on. I’ve been in since the first day of trading and I fudded the shut out of LINK all through 2018.
Unironically the dream of the singularity kept a nice vibe going. Currently holding LINK feels like death. My portfolio just crabs at $250k.
Same as every other decent coin shilled here. "Its a scam, buy this obvious rug pull instead!", "Its dead it didn't 500x every 5 min" etc
It was so exciting until like 2 weeks ago. Almost no price action at all.
The fud is very effective for newfags especially the conferences in 2019. The "Fireworks in September" larp was heavily perpetuated. Honestly a newfag like myself at that time did feel demoralized. The fudders were incredible at toying with your emotions. Spam the boards with larps for nothingburger conference, said conference turns out to be a nothingburger, fudders spam the board and demoralize you. We still had some crumbs and good discussions back then so even brainlet newfags like myself felt comfortable in my investments from time to time. Unironically would have bought more link at lower prices if I got more involved in Twitter instead of Zig Forums getting demoralized from time to time. We also had weekly/monthly pump and dumps if I recall correctly. The same tranny groups would come out and shill to cause fomo then they would dump and the fud starts all over again.
except it’s not like that whatsoever. XRP is just like every other pump and dump scam from 2017. tron, stellar, icon, etc all pumped to insane heights
and then dumped never to return. if you buy any coin that has a chart like pic related you’re literally retarded or more likely a paid shill.
It was rough, but I look back on it fondly.
Some user once said, no matter how hard it is to hold when your down, it's 1000x harder to hold when you're up.
It's the calm before the storm user. Get ready.
Also the crabbing in 2019 was more of a blessing for us newfags. While many were now priced out of owning 20k-30k stacks we could still stack a couple thousand, some took loans to get 10k, 20k stacks.
hello fellow chad
hahahahHhahHhahHha buy STA sirs it is good coin
for you it is next LINK
Lol same
>FUD was nothing if you DYOR
this
Here’s hoping we continue the parabola
explain yourself please
I hope so fren. I don't have more money to buy LINK at these prices but if my shitcoin plays work out then I can stack some more LINK.
It depends on many factors actually.
If the first pump was only hype and no substance then it doesn't matter, price might return to those levels or even reach new ATH.
The FUD was mostly about mainnet launch
yeah but we had bizonacci back then
oh wow this brings back some mem's. I got in on the way down from that first pump. Averaged down into like 50c because I couldn't believe price was so low.
Yep you can imagine why fud was so effective, I mean it did Not Fucking move for a very long time. A lot of us where wondering if we"d ever see that money again heh
I bought so much LINK at like $1.50 just to watch it fall to .17. $30-40k worth. If I had waited I’d have hundreds of thousands of LINK. Oh well.
