AMD has a reasonably bright future due to CPU. We'll see if Radeon is any good in late October. It is likely it won't be able to compete with high-end Nvidia, but will offer a competitively priced mid-range. One important thing to remember is they are delayed in their release by over a month vs. Nvidia, so they will miss the 'first round' of GPU purchases. Especially important leading up to Christmas.

VIX going up means an expected large move in price, could be either up or down. DXY going up means the dollar is worth more, which sounds good, but it also means that stocks are worth less by a proportional amount to the dollar being worth more.
