Lapua, oh wow look at you. Howa makes good rifles, Nikon for glass. Plenty others. You don't need the designer brands.

6.5 Creedmor, hands down. This will carry beyond a distance that you'll ever be able to control anyways. Once you get to Lapua/50 you're dealing with distances that are ridiculous.

I already have an old Mannlicher Carcano in 6.5 and its really good. I love it, but I think its time for the next level

OP you can get a custom built 338 on a R700 action with mcmillan chassis that will do everything that gun does for 1/4 the price. Think about it. That's more gun than you need for specified purpose, but you know that. You just like "tactical" shit

For roughly $1k you can get chassis and barrel for a HOWA that shoots 65 creedmoor. Put a good scope on it and your accuracy is practically guaranteed up to 1000 yards
