it will soon be automated

yeah. basically make a Civ clone that has a good AI with a lot of roleplay potential.

>soon
robots cannot comprehend philosophy, they can only learn things such as "niggers and kikes bad, ... [SHUTDOWN PROGRAM]"

haha game making so 2015.

create a shitcoin user

everything is a clone of a clone of a clone

this, since 3D made game development 100x more expensive we only see recycled shit again and again

there are some good indie games from time to time but its rare

Placing structures all at right angles all the time is profitable. Maybe.

Yes.

Oh I used to play that, what’s the name of that game??

>Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
Part of Sierra's city builder series because it went to shit like everything.

>Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
The music is brining back many memories
Thanks

Impressive, very nice.

For the love of God, pls make a good Final Fantasy Tactics clone. I'm dying for one of those.

after this game, sure. for the current one i just need to bring a product to market to establish a name and draw talent to make exactly as you mentioned, my own dream as well.

close, but no cigar yet. will need either ample time solo or a team around me to do so

The video game industry is a joke. It's full of autistic children escaping their miserable lives.

t

Looks like pharaoh and caesar, what chink sim is this?

how are you planning to establish a name?

there is an enormous market gap for politically incorrect games with good stories and gameplay

Best of luck from me. If you ever release a decent fft-clone in early access on steam you'll have a buyer here.

I think the only way you can succeed is to find underserved niche genres that don't have many games

Thoughts?

The industry is really easy to make it into, one just needs to work hard at it and have a want to do it.

Which industry? Mobile, web, desktop? I always hear talks about oversaturation and shit

Made one ~2 years ago. It was a bit shit but enjoyed the whole process. Make around $20 a month now so only cashes out from steam once every odd month.
Really want to make another but my wageslave job kind of holds me down. Once link moons ill be doing it again fulltime, really want to work on coop multiplayer games

The games industry? Usually you'll find oversaturation by trend chasers, but if you make a good game people will always praise you for it and you'll make your money back usually, (It helps that costs can be kept ludicrously cheap).
Big studios are falling apart nowadays, indie is and always will be the future. Hell even modding is starting to become a marketable landscape.

Wow, user, was it hard to get listed on steam? And what was the programming language?

How do you know this? Most people think the industry is impossible to make it in. Are you a game developer?

yeah, gamedev is always referred to as oversaturated. No idea what's better, though, web games? mobile games? desktop games?

Dad randomly bought me a game back in high school, thought "that looks old and shit".
Actually had fun playing it. Would play again.

You will fail.

C# (unity), steam is very easy to get listed on. You can slap a lot of shit in there. They had a lot of trouble with shovelware for a while.
I had my game featured on blogs like rock, paper shotgun and a couple of other sizable blogs. Issue is the market is flooded.
Getting noticed is hard and getting sales is harder. Mind you my game was fairly basic - 2D top down shooter so not highly eye catching. If I make another game it will be multiplayer, more dynamic and a lot nicer. Art is everything for attracting buyers.

Partly built it because a few friends wanted to build a game, they all flaked out so I just built an entire game myself to show them they were dicks and couldn't commit to a project. That really was the main motivation, then I really enjoyed the development process. Would crave getting home from work to code my project and would be up till 3am doing it.
Blog post over.
