Kroger (KR) to be acquired by Amazon at $47.50 per share. Announcement after close today. Amazon already owns Whole Foods which is their higher end brand. Now they’ll own the largest grocer in the rest of the market.
Kroger Acquisition
even if this were true, looks like Zig Forums doesn’t care
too poor to play it
Meanwhile fed buying US land worth trillions. FED buying LAND. What a time to be alive.
what is your source?
are you selling the 9/18 $34 calls lol?
I wish I could buy calls, but I could never get away with that.
So amazon is just going to take over the fucking world huh
I’m not an idiot.
Doubtful
Even at $47.50, it’s only about 16 times forward earnings. Amazon is getting a fucking bargain and a half.
op I’m going to take your word for it. plz don’t be lying fren.
That would be fucking hilarious but Bezos is a lunatic that he may do ti
you fuckers are going to make me log into my brokerage and load up the option chain
yeah I'm actually there now kek
I’ve been invested in KR for about a year ~6 months.
Can you give me some hope? My god I put 20k on this instead of WKHS which was like 4 dollars at the time. Figured a grocery store was a good bet, man do I have regrets.
I think word has leaked, not counting this thread. The stock is up significantly today on no news.
buy to open 100 call strike $33?
this is how i lose money
short safeway, without heavy investment they are now a small fish compared to their competition. how long until an online only grocery chain?
went with Oct 2 2020 35.00 Call cost me 12 bucks per contract, not too bad.
Timing on this would seem very weird, with the pandemic Kroger is probably at the best position its ever been, why would Amazon buy them now?As opposed to waiting it out, and buying at a lower price.
I work for kroger and I don’t see any news about this on my work portal
>made assumptions
See where you went wrong?
Only way this makes sense is if Amazon is really threatened by Walmart/Walmart + and they want to compete with the lower income market.
You think decisions are made only on the basis of perceived current value of the target company? Lol.
Why not?
Amazon has been doing DD for over a year on this deal. They consider Kroger to have the best grocery operation in the world and they’ve been stunned that the stock hasn’t responded to Kroger’s vastly improving business position. They consider it possibly the most undervalued company in the world right now. This deal might have taken another year but Amazon has decided to lock it down before the stock corrects up and they might have to pay $60 per share.
>CIA shell company owns 60% of internet commerce and will also now own the grocery supply chains
It's only a matter of time before they buy the entire state of Wyoming and convert it into a giant bugman ranch to farm bugs and soi and then we're all fucked. Also Jeff Bezos is clearly a supervillain and he doesn't even hide it.
Snd I was just looking at KR.
i work for a broker dealer so I have to get approval
i wonder if I can sneak this past the ceo without attracting interest (of a bad kind)
That makes a lot of sense. Kroger's problem like walmart is the fact that their customer service sucks, the stores are pretty gross, and I would rather pay more than to shop with their target clientele. I wonder if Amazon would actually try to fix this or just keep it the same and expand their prime grocery foothold. Probably just the later.
YOLO in with 33 oct 2 calls
Let’s just say that there’s a reason I know what I know. And any positions I take with regard to KR are monitored by the SEC.
Yeah but you might as well make money off of it
Really? The krogers I go to routinely are pretty nice. I guess I do live in a decent area, though....hmm
This is retard tier. Go back to plebbit with the rest of you 90 IQ zoomer gamblers that equate trivial bullshit to billions of dollars of worth. You probably seriously believe it’s impossible to beat the market because you invest based on emotion and retard tier analysis lmao
the only reason I clicked on this thread is because I use Kroger too. Clicklist is good, a wagie does my shopping for me and puts in my truck for free.
Krogers are pretty nice near me as well.
I live in a big city so there is a Kroger every few miles or so, they are pretty hit or miss imo. I drive an extra few miles to go to the better Kroger when I'm looking for something whole foods doesn't have.
Well, I threw the last of my free cash in my fuck around account on those calls, hope OP isn't a fag.
Unless you're a top exec, you wouldn't.
he is going to make ameriga great again :DD by forcing all the ghetto dwellers to HAVE TO HAVE DELIVERY and maybe they'll get their act together finally and pull themselves up by the bootstraps FINALLY. forced nutrition and street sweepers, not HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP AND POOPIES IN THE PARKING LOT
