I’m having the same issue with trying to approve spend limit for my tokens but you never stick with the default Fast option desu, go to advanced and set gas price to 20-100 more than the fast option, otherwise this will happen every time

Exact same thing happened to me, a bunch of people on Zig Forums made suggestions but metamask being the garbage it is shat itself at every opportunity. I had to uninstall metamask and reinstall just to get it working again later and apparently it isn't uncommon to have to do that.
The problem is when you set a custom nonce it gives an entirely different error. Also crypto.com wasn't connecting to metamask wallets last night so you couldn't do the send yourself 0 eth trick. By the time I got done fucking around with it learning how to set a custom nonce, clearing previous transactions, and reinstalling metamask from a "rpc error with payload" the original transaction (which I used over 500 gwei to initiate) went through after 2 hours.
Bear in mind this shit is supposed to at the very least be accessible to normal people, jokes aside 95% of the people on Zig Forums right now are far above the average normie. I just hope these people don't expect grandpa to need to learn how to set custom nonces and gwei after looking at the ethgasstation (I thought the eth gas station was a joke when I first heard of it)

I have zero problems with metamask, ever at high gas prices. The problem is that 95% of pajeets never use ethgasstation and Advanced button where you can set the gas price in gwei.
