the 3 main reasons why btc is bitcoin are these:
1) the real bitcoin (the fork with the highest hashrate) always gets the btc ticker so by definition btc is bitcoin
2) btc is the only fork that carries the original nakamoto consensus unbroken
3) it's the social consensus not just the technical one which is neatly reflected by the valuation of the forks

a single lightning payment channel can do 25k tx/sec and you can make almost 150k of them per day which puts bitcoins testbench throughput to around 3.75 billion tx/sec after first day of doing so.
