Shitcoin Troubles

>spend a lot of time lately gambling shitcoins on uniswap
>finally make some good money on a coin, decide to sell half and take profits
>get this message
it doesn't matter if I adjust the slippage tolerance, I still get the message. It's only with this particular shitcoin

I bet that your coin have a burning system so increase the slippage to 20 or something like this

I can put it on 50% still get the message

actually I can't put it on 50%, but I can put it on 45%. Same deal. the coin just goes up in value rapidly, wish I could sell this sucker right now. I can be sure that as soon as I figure it out, it will be just under the price I paid. Ah well, makes sense that I finally make money investing in a coin and I am unable to sell it. I am honestly not surprised at all by this. Does anyone else ever feel extremely solipsistic?

I think I've fallen for some type of scam. Is there a way to list a coin on uniswap, that someone can buy into but can't sell? Because It's happening with two coins that I have now. They are both brand new, and they are both shooting up in value, and I can't sell either of them. all the other coins I have are fine, and losing value(of course). But at least I can pull up a transaction window for them to check gas fees and shit.

So, only the coins I'm in the green on can't sell. I can only sell coins i'm in the red on. What the fucking fuck? Are the bogdanoffs in on this bullshit?

was chainlink involved?

Check how much liquidity there is. Maybe you've been rugpulled.

here's what I get when I try the other coin that I bought today and am in the green on(even if I increase slippage to 45%)

forgot image

nah theres plenty of liquidity in both of the shitcoins I can't sell. that was my first thought of course. price just keeps going up and up and up. been watching for an hour stressing out.

Yup that’s a scam coin. You can invest all you want and so can everyone else but not sell. It’s really common for people trying to get in on a project early to get trapped into this, happens to the best of us

this seems like what's going on but I've never heard of such a thing. It's like the liquidity is locked going in one direction or something. I'm new to crypto but i've still bought and sold a hundred or more different shitcoins without having any major issues. been rugpulled etc but never seen this happen before

these are the two that I was way in the green on but can't sell. They both had legit websites and everything, seemingly plenty of transactions going on and liquidity, I guess I still haven't figured out what I'm really doing yet. there must be many types of scams that I can fall for. Maybe almost everything is a scam

if that is an actual thing maybe I should buy and sell a small amount of any new coin I'm interested in to make sure it's actually sellable and not just buyable. Also, if that's a common thing, how come no one ever talks about it? does it have a name? I hear about rugpulling and other scams a thousand times a month or more and they have names like "rugpulling"

They have identical bytecodes, with no published source. We can't know what it is, but something in there stops you selling. Also, check their uniswap histories. Only one account ever successfully sells, presumably the owner cashing out. The lesson is to not buy ERC20 shitcoins where you can't even read the code.
Also, I glanced at flamingo's website and it says they're a neo token. Why the fuck would you buy into a random erc20 with the same name?

Stop trying to make money on those scam coins. The real losers in those are dirt poor pajeets and you are perpetuating a cycle of exploitation by adding volume that adds legitimacy to the scam.

I just checked the other one and they haven't even released their token yet. You just fell for an embarrassingly obvious phish.
The unsellable trick is new to me though. Haven't seen that before.

probably. I can file this with the other rugpull losses from scanning merv.tech but I suppose I was just curious what this kind of scam was called and why I haven't heard of it before.

whoops. at least I gave pretty much all of my investment portfolio to scammers this month. those guys gotta eat too

what is this, anyway? it seems like whenever I'm looking at a token on uniswap.info most of the token is being sold by this address. it doesn't matter what token.

That's the uniswap router contract. It's just wrapping ether to pass to the core contract. The real seller is the one who called the router contract, just click through to etherscan to see the whole transaction.

just checked it out and it checks out. prolly a big whale.

I haven't seen it done on purpose or with Uniswap version 2.
is this happening on version 1? can you even still use 1?

LINK LAW

Sometimes I forget I'm surrounded by morons
V1 will stick around indefinitely, it can't be shut off. Liquidity and volume steadily falling to zero, though.

Not sure how to switch to v1 other than when it gives me the option because "this trade has a better deal on v1" or whatever. How do I do it manually?

use 1inch
sell little by little

theres tons of options user

It's gotta be something in the contract. The other day I bought the wrong coin on uni and couldn't approve to sell. It wouldn't open up metamask to send the tx, but all other uni shitcoins were fine. No idea about how to manually send approval to a contract, or if that is even possible.

weird. I tried swapping one of the scam coins for one of the other scam coins. got the same message. then for some reason I tried it the other way and got a different message

Oh, I succesfully was approved on both shitcoins, paid my gas fee, then it wouldn't let me sell just gives me that error anyway.

Have you tried selling smaller amounts rather than full stack?

Try putting increasingly small amounts until the transaction gets past that screen. That's usually how that scam works.
