That’s literally what happened. Just about every 2020 roadmap goal that has been completed so far was on the 2018 roadmap originally, but they failed to get it done in time. Then they were on the 2019 roadmap, and only got a few more done.

Whether it’s because they’re bad developers or just overly ambitious, it isn’t a good look either way. Put out a reasonable roadmap so you don’t look bad having to walk it back.
