Nyan Tokenomics

Can somebody actually explain this to me? I think I get the general idea but i'm unsure how it's actually functions in practice. I get that staking Nyan mints nip and i get that pooling NIP/ETH mints Dnyan but i don't understand why the NIP has value to anyone outside of Nyan? Surely we're just buying and selling to ourselves. How do you stop the price of NIP crashing when you sell it to invest? and how do you stop people hoarding it in the meantime so you have to buy it back at inflated rates? I'm not sure i'm understanding it right and nobody on the telegram seems to give a straight answer. Help me /biz

Because liquidity providers receive dividends from the investment vehicle in return for providing liquidity. So the system is designed so as there is an incentive to provide liquidity on these grounds, It's bascially yield farming but instead of receiving static yield APY you will instead say "take this yield and invest it in the hope that you make profit and increase my base yield".

But that doesn't put any outside pressure on the price of nip though and it doesn't deal with the deflationary pressure of selling the nip to make investments. Why is everyone so sure it works, it doesn't look like it should.

I don't remember reading anyone saying it works. All involved aknowledge the risk and there are already discussions about this sort of stuff in the telegram. This is barely 3 weeks old.

Currently we have
- deflationary force on Nip via voting (rumoured to be increasing to 0.2 Nip per vote)
- Nip hard cap or 50k/100k
- Hypothetical Dnyan mining incentive (which obviously requires polkadot integration)
- Nip/Eth LP incentive to receive dividends

This is not deflationary you retard. Do you know what deflation is? It is a decrease in the supply. This is not what you have just said here. The voting mechanism is deflationary as it burns Nip.

Don't come in here giving it the big man talk when you can't nail down basic definitions.

Yes I think the system will work if we can find the right balance in incentivising liquidity provision as that is largely where Nip will derive value from until we have Polkadot integration creating a new value flow.
