What's better a new car or a used car...

What's better a new car or a used car? What if the used car has low miles yet you don't know if the driver hit a nasty pothole or speed bump and got worried by the impact and said to themselves "I better sell it before it gets problems?"

>SELLING A CAR AFTER HITTING A BUMP

wtf lmao just go visit a mechanic if you drove into a goddamn crater brb selling my $20000 vehicle for $8000 off just in case it's worse than my alignment being slightly off wtf

If you pay more than $5000 for a vehicle, you're an imbecile.

Just buy Honda or Toyota

Why did you post papa Jung?
How old are you op first car?

Depends on your budget and need.
Toyotas are a meme for a reason. A mid-2000s commuter will only run you 5-8k and well kept will run for literally decades.

That's what I think is the course of action given they have great customer service at the dealership when it comes to routine maintenance and free food and drinks at least before the 'rona.

Bought a new car in '16 that's now 4 years old and thinking about my next car in a year or so depending on the crypto cycles.

where you expecting someone to have coherent thoughts on here?

You basically still have a new car why do you need a new one? If it is only something you want and not something you need, then you're going to buy a new one regardless why post about it in some blog?

what do you guys think about a used volvo wagon from 2006 for 5k

The price of used cars has skyrocketed. So it comes down to how many miles you expect to drive a year. If more than 10k buy new. Less than 5k buy used. 5k to 10k your choice dependent on if you can actually maintain the car.

Just wondering if someone has experience with finding the sweet pot # of years for getting a good resale price, it's bizness thoughts.

good point

Are you wealthy? Go ahead and buy new, you have so much money you dont really care about an asset immediately depreciating a ton after you buy in. You aren't wealthy but are comfortable with your money? Then buy low miles used. Worried about buying a bad car? Then take the time to do some dd and find a reputable seller. Dont know how to tell if a car has issues when you inspect and test drive it? Stop being a prancing lala homo and learn about cars like a man. Any questions?

I bought a new honda civic 8 years ago and it still has another 10 years of major maintenance free life in it. Better to buy a new dependable car and do maintenance from day one on it. Fuck anything made in america

there's quite literally a dedicated sticky for this

if you buy from a dealer (new or used) you're getting jewed

Why is there no Ford branding on this thing?

CARS ARE NOT INVESTMENTS. THEY ARE TOOLS TO BE USED. IF YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM, THEY LAST LONGER.

/o/ will have much better answers, user. in general , new cars lose value as soon as they roll off the lot, so I almost exclusively buy used.

some cars hold their value better, so a low mileage used isn't much cheaper than a new car. I learned this pricing Subaru WRX.

the car you posted is unique because they haven't made bronco's in a long time. so your choices see either an old ass one or a new one, not really much low mileage used cars in between.

True, I forget how autistic everyone on here really is sometimes.

If your time is worth anything, buy new. If you're driving around aimlessly and have time to waste when your shitbox dies on you, or you have to figure out what's wrong with it, or you have to spend days finding another usable shitbox after you scrap yours, buy used.

Holy fuck they updated it.

god you're a fucking idiot

I bought a used luxury compact suv. Bigger than the manual coupes I always had so I said why not.
Bought a P3 volvo in the sweet spot years. Spent 2k to bring it up to date on all maintenance and can now splurge on some go fast bits and even better aftermarket suspension and tires. All in im still at about 14k.
This is how I prefer to buy nice used cars that are max comfy and ergonomic.
Helps if you know how to wrench your own shit.

25% of a new cars market value is lost after driving it out of the parking lot.
I’d probably buy a preowned or used car

Anyone moaning about buying a new car are jealous losers. I could afford it so I bought a new car 2 years ago.

>best feeling ever

Do it at least once in your life, who cares if you lose a few bucks. Everything which you use has a cost involved in it.

It doesn't have to be a Mercedes or BMW, mine was a Nissan and it still smells like a new car. Diamonds.

The most boomer advice you'll ever see.

>new bronco
>that low to the ground
>high end trim
Completely negates the point of the original bronco which was that it could drive offroad with minimal modifications and was simple enough to not get damaged.

Buy a used Toyota. I am a mechanic and I will tell you that there is a reason they hold their value. I see 8 even 15 year old camrys and Corollas with 150k+ miles that look and run like new. You cant beat Toyota when it comes to reliability. I personally have a 2012 Camry with 149k on it and it has never once had an issue. Only thing that I have had to do replace brake pads and rotors, and some bulbs. The thing is an animal.

Why not just burn the money? You're basically bragging that you like getting fucked over and paying more for the same thing. Buy a year old or two year old model coming off a lease and you have a car with a warranty, maybe 25k miles and its 30% less than new sticker price. But hey I guess you just hate $$$
