I don't think some people realize just how popular Trump is in the US despite his excessively negative portrayal in almost all media and despite his flaws as a president and as a person (and also the fact that sometimes hating on something too much can have a backfire effect, making it cool to like that thing)
For a long time now the US elections has been a fucking popularity contest rather than a contest about who is actually better for the job in question. Democrats have no room to complain about this either, since they normally use the sometimes-successful strategy of portraying the 'cooler' candidate, like with Bill Clinton and Barack Obama

The reason why I ask this, is because according to a lot of polls and opinion pieces that I see now - and not just from strictly-left or liberal sources - Biden generally has a comfortable lead over Trump and he'd be a million times better for the country's future for a variety of reasons
But if Biden loses, then what would you say is the reasons for it?
I know things like election fraud and voter suppression will be brought up for sure. But other than active interference in the election process, are there any reasons why an anti-Trumper would think that Trump wins in 2020, especially if he gets the popular vote this time?
Reasons in terms of understanding the mindset and the reasoning of the voters, and understanding why so many Americans would still decide to vote for him?
