There are some things outside of your control like border alignment that is entirely dependent on how it was printed, that alone prevents a psa 10 If you have any issues on the card, like the ones you mentioned, or scratching on the holo portions, it's not even going to get a 9. If you aren't going to get a 9 or 10, don't bother sending it to get graded. You are better off trying to sell it on ebay without grading it but calling it near mint or whatever you think you can get away with. But also be aware that people will try to fuck you out of paying you since ebay heavily sides with the buyers and not the sellers.

Kinda too blurry to tell but that looks like a PSA 6 to 8 (being very generous assuming the front is spotless). You could save some time and money and get them graded by CGC, they just started grading Pokemon and MTG cards. PSA has a return time of ~6 months right now. You will get more for a graded card than ungraded.

You def want to unload several for the holidays. I invest in sneakers as well and have a ton of pairs to dump for markups. But as for the Switch, sell a few for the holidays and I think you have a good idea for a long term hold.
Your hot money right now is with the next gen console preorders. I'm making like $500-$900 per week running slots for them.

Damn I really didnt think of that for the holidays, thanks user. Finally built up a decent collectibles store this year, will def use this strategy and buy a few per year to hold and sell. Dont know enough about preorders but ill look into thanks. Did try shoes when I worked in the mall a few years ago and made decent money since you can be there for the limited edition releases and collabs but the hype drives that market and I'm too slow to keep up with it. they are actually not as bad to sellers as people say sometimes. especially if you are a large anchor store. have a small store and they've been pretty helpful with closed cases in my favor. Stay in very good standing and have great customer service and response to questions. Calling their help line used to be really great, try and get white people if you can.

With those back chipping in your OP image alone the most you’ll ever get is a 6. This looks like a flawless front, but if there are any microabrasions you’ll be bumped down to a 5.5.

Even if you have shit like common Funko Pops or something, it’s going to sell the closer we get to the holidays. Even do mystery boxes with collectibles and fill them with shit that’s harder for you to sell.
Sure you can get some extra cash for a lot of uncommon, common TCG and sports cards too.
I can't believe PSA 9s and 10s are selling for that much. I get that are kinda rare but they can't possibly be THAT rare. Just look at how many anons on Zig Forums find old charizards from when they were kids. There have literally got to be tens of thousands of people around the world with 1st charizards in their basements. And maybe a couple of hundreds of those (1%) are PSA 10s. The supply is artifically low because most people don't know just how valuable their old pokemon cards might be and haven't bothered to look. But as more and more normies hear about this they will get curious and look through their old cards. It's only a matter of time. This is NOT like extremely rare basebll cards where only a a couple of hundred were printed or whatever. Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of 1st base set charizards were printed. On top of that you have all the recent hype and surge in prices (in part because people are bored at home). Pokemon might be a decent long term hold, but now seems like the worst possible time to invest desu.

I took "good" care of my cards and it looks like they won't be worth much, despite them being shadowless 1st edition. It looks like a few can be worth something (ironically the more common cards, pikachus, bulbasaurs, etc) because I touched them less as a kid. But for the vast majority of my cards, they arent worth much.
I guess they sell for that high cause who the hell actually has a Charizard, Blastoise, Venosaur that hasnt been touched? That's 9/10. I mean fuck all of my holo super rare's are ALL CHIPPED, why? Cause I fucked around with them as a kid. The other cards I have are in better shape and might be 8's.
