it's 2020 not 1920, you don't. either win the lottery or die on the street
I remember it was around 1 casual or part time job for every 100 resumes sent out about 5 years ago.
Though that was for crap jobs where you may only get a shift every few weeks or even months.
From what I see the job based system does not really exist anymore unless you have nepotism or are already in it and winning.
Apply at Amazon. They're hiring en masse at the moment.
Americans and Anglo commonwealth countries (including the UK) are the most cucked in the world. Incredible.
>Trainee trader
What's your background? What's your CV look like ?
I recently started a job as a junior trader at a proprietary trading firm that acts as a market maker.
I can help you if you want
If you are white, enter hispanic on the eeo page. Gets an interview everytime.
What firm aussie user? I want to apply.
Dunno
T. MSC in cs working as call centre tech for minimum wage 10 hours a day 2 hours unpaid
If you're in Australia I'd recommend both IMC and Optiver. Both great firms but very tough to get into.
yea it doesnt look good
>bachelors in science
>no relevant professional work experience on CV
>but i do have a trading journal which shows i can manage risk and be profitable
i just didnt get past the written application. oh congratz user can i ask what they're mainly looking for?
Master's in science as a minimum degree mostly, also a somewhat relevant degree if you didn't do STEM with a lot of math in it.
What's your degree exactly?
How was your cover letter?
If you don't have any relevant experience just write down relevant courses or activities you did
Bachelors of Science major in biotech
almost zero math in the courses i did, i also dont have any programming experience.
didnt need a cover letter, just resume and answer some questions online.
im in a trading society for uni and write articles n shit for them thats the most relevant activity i have. do you think i should just go do a masters user? im a fresh grad and theres hardly any jobs rn anyway
between march and july, i received over 100 of these lol
the absolute state of muttistan
Doing a master's?
Definitely yes, it's a huge advantage you have later on in life as well and where I live (Netherlands) it's a standard to get a master's after your bachelors degree.
Especially now with 'rona fucking over the job market, do a master's degree. It's worth it.
>Biotech
Yeah mate maybe trading as a professional trader isn't for you, they mostly hire math, physics, (quant) finance and more math related graduates in general.
But if you are very good at mental math and arithmetic, you could maybe get into Optiver, I applied for them here and got through to the last round of interviews.
And always mention you're very competitive and driven, give specific short examples as well like in your course work and studies.
Here's a website to practice mental math on that I used:
rankyourbrain.com
If you can get above 45 or 50 you're on the desired level that you need to pass the round after the CV check.
If you have any more questions let me know
thanks user, you've been a great help man. ye you're probably right being a pro trader needs alot of math which i dont have. but im the autistic type to see shit through till the end. Ill see how i go with masters + grinding mental math.
do you have a burner email i could contact you later down the line? godspeed fren
i'm in the exact same situation, but with a master of arts. been looking for over a year now. did unpaid internship, didn't just idle in uni, but it's still impossible with over 200+ applications sent.
even hired a job coach who optimized my CV a bit, but definitely not worth the money.
don't do anything other than STEM, anons.
Sure, [email protected] should do
>master of arts
You wasted you life by your own.
What the fuck were you thinking?
>.au
well maybe move out of shitstralia first
no good jobs there
My degree is pretty shit and so is my resume, but merely having more experience/exaggerating experience and skills to employers gets you jobberoos. Most of the nogs and women you'll work with will have even less skills, so it doesn't actually matter if you know how to do the job (and most 'college degree required :DD' jobs can be learned in a day or two anyway if you're not retarded, most of these are clearly highschool-degree level but Der Ewige Boomer included college degree requirements for some reason).
i fell for the "study whatever interests you" meme.
doesn't work. don't be like me.
>biotech
>no maths
>wants to become a trader

>If you can get above 45 or 50
that's fucking retarded, those are probably bots
>That's retarded those are bots
No, anything above 45 to about 60 is doable with practice.
Before my interviews and after having practiced an hour every day for a month, I got to 55 on average.
It's not unachievable but it takes time of you're not naturally gifted with mental math
Here's some proof, just did this on my phone on the toilet at work.
>you're not naturally gifted with mental math
I am, and I call bullshit. I got a score of 17 max and that was clearly some of the the easiest calculations (though otoh I didn't sleep much today). still, if you think those at the top are not bots, you are retarded and a bullshitter
The top ones above 80 I'm sure are bots.
>I got a score of max 17
Then practice more, it isn't too difficult to get at least above 30 on your first try.
I'll do one again and in 3 mins you'll see my result again
>india
All that talent for math and pajeets choose to make scams so they can spend the money on gamer girl bathwater. What a joke society.
I mean, you don't even need a bot. you probably can code some quick shit in javascript
but anyway, yeah, I guess you are right, it's possible to get those scores with lots of practice. I got 21 a while ago, and I made many mistakes typing the stupid numbers. also, I realized you can just more or less guess some big multiplications/divisions, because those don't require multiplying decimals
those are obviously automated...
Sorry for bad quality, wanted to get rid of an ad for the picture
