Degrees to become CEO

What are the best degrees to rise the corporate ladder?

I’m finishing my MS and will likely get a good job as a scientist to start out, but I would like to rise above that and go into management. I was planning on doing an MBA while I gain experience to sit for the professional licensing exam for my MS degree (5 years). I was even thinking a degree in law would be cool and make me stand out among possible candidates. Both of these would definitely make more sense than getting a PhD in my MS field.

Ph D in My Dad Owns The Company

MBA

That was already the plan. Is a JD worth it? It would be in Environmental Law. Not a tree hugger btw. Just going into environmental consulting like site remediation and stuff.

Being a CEO is cringe, start ur own company and call yourself the "Director of Operations".

And MBA is a good idea, but you'll need social skills and a shit ton of charisma to become the CEO of a large company.

Protip! A very large percentage of C-level executives come from sales, especially in finance. Being good at sales conveys to everyone else that you know how to get shit done, you know how to handle people, and you actually generate profit for the company.

Don't assume for 1 second that have a degree will magically get you to the C-level. You'll need to play a lot of bullshit office politics just to rise to VP.

Jesus christ just pick a lane already.

That’s why I’m here. I want to see what I should plan on. I love going to school and improving, its only 5 years total, which is virtually what a PhD in my field would take.
