just note that it's giving you the mean and SD's over the data you give it. if you do say, the 1 D 1m it'll be different levels than say, the 5 D 1m or the 30 D 1m because it's a different data set. it will also change as new data is added and old data is removed.
this is generally why i don't like to start buying until at least 2 SD because it's liable to change as the day goes on. im just looking for a general area of price being really extended from the mean trading price, anyways. it's also key, imho, to scale in and out, so you lock in profits in the short term and have the option to average down just in case.
68% of the data should be within 1SD, 95% should be within 2SD, and 99.7% should be within 3SD. it generally shows that price is really far away from the mean of the data set you give it if it's past 2SD because that's where price has been in the data set only 5% of the time. obviously it's not going to get there as often as 1SD though. and obviously it's not going to get to 3SD as often as 2SD, so it depends how much risk you want to take on vs. how many trades you want to be able to take. you can also scan for this shit btw.
