dude use a dedicated XMR wallet. Your wallet should provide you with a list of nodes to connect to and/or allow you to manually enter a remote node. If it only has one or a handful by default, yeah it's going to be down at times and your sync/send/receive is going to be fucked. Also your wallet should let you sync from around the blockheight where you received your transactions since there is no need to sync the entire chain. If your wallet doesn't do all that and and your are using a wallet designed to accommodate 50 other coins, you run into stuff like this. Never had a problem like this as long as I could find a remote node that was online.
