Arbitrum is a fucking joke. No one is going to want to use this. 25 minutes is a SHORT period of time only designed for the test net. This is retarded, no UNI degen is going to use this shit. All of ETH's traffics problems are caused by UNI traders for the most part. Most of them will probably just opt to move to a sidechain, where they can still do token swaps/smart contracts but don't have to wait weeks to get their coins off of it, yet it is still more secure than a centralized exchange.
Arbitrum is a fucking joke. No one is going to want to use this...
you are right about one thing. Degens will opt for side chains
thanks for the red underlines. theres so much text there to shift through
>no UNI degen is going to use this
do you know how i know you are a fucking idiot?
I do think Arbitrum will actually be huge eventually. I just think people are expecting too much of the current creators of ETH traffic. These are people buying Sushi/Kimchi/EMN etc. These people probably have 70%+ of their money on a CEX, so going to a side chain will seem 10x more secure to them than letting some chink control their funds. They aren't going to want to wait for these 2 hour finality bullshit solutions.
Serious companies/enterprises and people doing really big trades would probably opt for plasma/arbitrum which has full security. Those aren't the people causing congestion on ETH though right now. Eventually with more ETH adoption, and enterprise adoption, we will see more Arbitrum adoption though. It's just a long term thing.
Yes, the average person buying Sushiswap/Luigi.finance is going to be concerned about his 2.4 ETH's security and will opt to put it on a layer 2 solution that takes several hours to reach finality. LMAO. Bruh these people can't wait two weeks for a solid project to moon so they buy food coins. THIS is who is causing ETH traffic right now. Not enterprises who need to be serious about security and can't afford a .000001% chance of something getting messed up.
you're not going to bait me into spoon feeding you
I kekd
Those people don't really care that much about security. They are playing games with lunch money. Rather pay 20 cents on binance chain than 15 dollar on mainnet for the same game. It is just rational. For big companies, or certain products that don't need ms price feeds, arbitrum will be a game changer, now the companies and products in need of such a solution need to come. Till then 9008%APY go go go before the rug gets pulled
I can't understand what you're saying. That 25 minutes is long? You realize ACH and credit card settlement times are ~48-72 hours on average, right? For secure settlement at scale, 25 minutes or even an hour or 10 hours is still a major improvement. Blockchain has the promise to bring instant settlement but it isn't going to happen overnight, L2 isn't the final frontier, it's just the next step in secured, speedy settlements. Scale will always at least temporarily slow things down. In a vacuum you can make anything look amazing. When there are billions and trillions of transactions on the network it's a lot harder, which is why we currently have no chains with the ability to scale. Arbirtrum is solving this problem and increasing real world efficiency by an order of magnitudes. We're not in toyland anymore, this is the real deal.
You realize uniswap is integrating optimism, not arbitrum
If only there's a highly scalable smart contract platform that's fully EVM compatible
arbitrum is dead on arrival
At least it is for UNI traders and the current generators of ETH traffic. LINK boys are desperate to defend it, I don't think its bad but it's shit for fixing our current scaling issues. Sideschains are the best solution to current traffic generators.
>binder binder binder
In the recent EEA conference Yorke said there will need to be multiple L2 solutions. They’ll likely specify into different use cases.
lol u r so dum
come on user, spill the beans!
this.
Optimism.io is the optimistic rollup of ethereum.
Fortunately, because it has no pointless rent seeking token. There are already too many.
If arbitrum wasn't retarded they wouldn't partner with link (or were they bought? whatever) but release their own token and give it to people that deposit on it + use that token to run nodes. What did they even gain from using link?
modularity
Funniest thread I've read in a while, reminds me of 2015 Zig Forums
IS THIS THE GAME CHANGER YOU LINKIES WERE TALKING ABOUT ?
LIKE SERGEY IS PREPARING FOR THIS WITH HIS 700K DUMPS TO CHANGE THE GAME AND STAY SOLVENT ?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OF MY FUCKIN GOD
25 MINUTES SHORT TIME, LETS WAIT 1 HOUR ON MAINNET.
WAIT
WAIT
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
FUCKIN SHILLS ON THIS BOARD HAHAHAHAHAHAA
Confirmation time does not equal transaction speed
thank u user, i wuz scared
SOMEONE GIVE ME HOPE
You're going to make it fren
...
Oh no, one of the start ups chainlinkcoin acquired has been outclassed. This is clearly disastrous for the linkcoin, who will remain stubborn and refuse to integrate the superior solution within a 10 year period.
(Jaw drops to the floor. Eyes pop out. Sound effect of, "AWOOOOGA AWOOOOGA!!!!" Places eyes and jaw back in place. Regains composure.) ... Eh hem, we’re gonna be RICH
It is just for on and off ramping of shit you mong, you will live on that shard for a long period of time trading and then off ramp when you want to be back on the main ETH chain.
Most people will be on a Uniswap shard for like months/years. Who gives a shit about waiting an hour before that and after?
Linkies need to realize Uniswap isnt receptive to Link. They wanted to use Maker oracles. Uniswap is the enemy.
