Trezor one and ledger nano s are better than trezort and ledger nano x.

Get a trezor model t, ledger is closed source

i prefer my ledger over my trezor

FUCK I ordered the X

Trezor one doesn't support privacycoins.

i have both. the expensive versions are genuinely worse from what I've read from reviews, that's all.

Theyre both good companies and if both were open it would be down to personal preference
Rip

Well i need monero support so i cant use the trezor one but if you don't need privacycoins then it makes no difference i guess

am I gay now

No you're just trusting the company not to implement a backdoor drain your funds and then claim it was a hack

I don't know why would someone buy Nano X if they own a computer. I'm not bringing 90% of my net worth with me when I go out.
Will the bluetooth function introduce a weak spot? I don't know and I don't need it.

Trezor T seems to be much better than Trezor One though, might get one for Password Manager and FIDO2

Based

Oh my god user i hope you're joking but if you're not PLEASE PLEASE read the basics of crypto starting with bitcoin's whitepaper. Do not skim it, reread it until you fully understand everything that isn't mathematical formulae

Is there a good resourse where I can buff up? I wish there was a sticky like in Zig Forums with all the fundamentals. If you link me a 6hr video I WILL watch it.

No buy a nano s

Purchases of durable goods are not investments, son.

And no. Just get an off-the-shelf laptop and build your own cold storage, for example with Electrum.

The Glacier Protocol is also a good resource.

Nano S + Ledger Live + Metamask is such a user friendly way to interact with crypto. I think back to 2017 and it was a fucking shitshow, working with MyEtherWallet and EtherDelta back then.

No, just buy a nano s

What the fuck are you talking about?
I mean why would you buy Nano X over Nano S if you're going for Ledger? Just to have one extra weak spot? Actually more than one, they intentionally made the storage on Nano S as small as possible so it's harder to hack the device on a hardware level, but they increased the storage size on Nano X.
Nano S is totally sufficient but if you're concern about open-source then get a Trezor

Here's something for you to consider:
If i memorize my seed phrase, am i carrying 90% of my net worth with me every time i leave the house?

If I can beat it out of you, yes.

If you know literally nothing there is a pretty good youtube video called "but how does bitcoin work?" Or something like that
It helps to have a computer science background but you should be able to get by just with wikipedia, and googling terms you don't understand
This other user seems to think a hardware wallet is an expensive usb stick for instance. I see a lot of that

You ca n always just brute force my seed pass with the word dictionary. I guess none of my chuck e cheese tokens are ever safe!

K bro thx, its pretty sad to admit but I actually worked as analyst and code developer for PwC kek im just illiterate in terms of crypto.

$5 wrench attack, memorizing your seed phrase is not always good
If somebody kidnapped and tortured you, how long can you hold out?

>brute force my seed pass with the word dictionary
kek you need to learn the basics of BIP-39

I'm just mocking you for not understanding what a hardware wallet actually is.

>Muh hacker guessed my private key
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

>I'm not bringing 90% of my net worth with me when I go out.
You are incredibly stupid for completely missing the point, when somebody has physical possession of you hardware wallet, your private key is as secure as your pin on the device. That's why I suggest against bringing it with you at all times, hence bluetooth is not needed if you have a computer.

inb4
>how can I trade shit coin when I'm not home then

You realize you can set arbitrary hidden wallet passphrases which are added to the seed phrase to derive new addresses? Even if le ebic hacker guesses my pin, they get exactly nothing.

>Nano S + Ledger Live + Metamask
Why add Metamask?

The x is fine but the bluetooth has me worried. Get a faraday bag to block signals.
