>AP using Chainlink for this election isn't a big dea...
"The AP has counted the vote in U.S. elections since 1848, including national, state and local races down to the legislative level in all 50 states, along with key ballot measures" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associated_Press
Holy crap this literally means my vote will be go straight to chainlink for tallying. BASED! $10000000 EOY!
Cameron Turner
>whole point of a DECENTRALIZED oracle is trustlessness >use link to upload data from a single trusted source on the blockchain >plebbitards and newfags think this is bullish unironically would sell 100k if I was a swingy
Joshua Butler
>oracles = sources
You're an absolute retard and there is no excuse.
Levi Jenkins
the data might be centralized but it’s uploaded in a decentralized way. based? based
Christian Torres
better vote trump though
Logan Thomas
This.
In lots of cases, more sources = better; but some data will always be "centralized" due to copyrights, patents, exclusivity rights, ... The point of Chainlink is to be a trustless BRIDGE between data and blockchain. Not to be responsible for the accuracy of the source.
Jaxson Powell
They will use it for one day within 4 years. Do you retards think this is bullish?
Wrong. It is uploaded in a centralized way by a single source which is Associated Press. This is however, the group that tallys votes so it is fairly reliable and then that information can be used by the decentralized computer or dcomputer. This allows for election calls to be done trustlessly in a decentralized way so you and I can bet on the election over Ethereum instead of over web2.0 which is not secure, not global, and can be taken down by the US government.
Nathaniel Carter
Cool. Time to record history on blockchain before it gets WE WUZ KANGZ'D anymore than it already is
Henry Hall
>Provable determinism of extremely subjective biased data I will still not believe AP if they fetch their data from cooperate media. If only biased sources exist, even a sybil resistant decentralized oracle network can not help
Jackson Taylor
I’ve felt this way before
>SO INSECUUUUUUUUURRRREEEEEE
Josiah Johnson
The Associated Press is not CNN. This is literally the company who tallies the US election data for nearly the last 200 years.
> wikipedia fork will put single data point election results on blockchain > wet brain user thinks the election is being trustlessly counted on the blockchain
Parker Martin
> "Madam Speaker, we cannot confirm the election result after three seperate recounts" > "Get me Sergey Nazarov" > "Thank you fundamentally for inviting me here today *cough* using Chainlink oracles we can easily count the votes in a transparent and verifiable manner"
Parker Flores
Dude who the f cares. Literally you fucking plebs don't realize that this really doesn't matter at all. Here is why. The real bullishness happens when AP is directly a node operator and can monetize it's data DIRECTLY on the blockchain. AP is retarded allowing this little startup and many other startups to steal their future profits and letting them be the key to AP data on the blockchain. You see now that these very large traditional players do not understand what is coming and positioning themselves correctly yet. When this thinking shifts, that's when things get bullish and data providers actually join the chainlink network.
Angel Turner
Why did nobody post this on /r/cryptocurrency yet? You will get many upboats and pump the price.
Ryan Sanders
FUCKING KEK just noticed this shitskin made two threads posting the same information he doesn't understand because he isn't getting the reaction he wants.
