I don't actually think xSTA has anything to do with the fud. It seems to be pretty wholehearted rugpull just riding the Statera wave. They seem to be very open about what the project is, not claiming they are in any way affiliated to Statera.
I believe there are a couple of dedicated Statera fudders who are salty about either selling low or buying high. Sometimes they are very easy to spot and some have been going at it for weeks already.
