What is biz’s weekly food budget like?

I’ve started shopping at one of the cheapest supermarkets in the uk and try not to spend any money whilst at work on food. This is so I can maximise the amount I put into crypto. It is hard though. If I do one good shop it will cost around £75/ ~$100. I will also spend more at the weekend on maybe a takeaway or going to a cafe. What I’ve realised Is that eating out and takeaways are a big scam. Also shopping anywhere but the cheapest supermarket is a scam, same products just cheaper.

My whole life I have frittered away money on nights out and lots of takeaways.

Since lockdown, I only go to cheap supermarkets, that's my entire spend apart from bills and rent.

Spend about 50 quid a week and that's way too much really. But nothing compared to my old outgoing of >1000 a month.

Aldi's is based, but owned by jews, I'm conflicted about shopping there. I like trader joes because they have more unique products and typically much higher quality. I've had to switch to aldi's because it will save me almost %50 by buying my beef there, though slightly lower quality.

Just do all your drinking at pres for nights out. My mate makes vodka in his bathtub so my drinking is free and if you go to a club with free entry that's a £0 night.

My night out in town consisted of finding half drank beers left behind and then, when drunk enough, harrassing patrons of near by bars about the nazi's and jews among other things. Got banned from that entire block.

The price at the supermarket has gone up tremendously this year. I am regularly spending every week $350+ AUD for a family of 4. last year I was spending $250.

B&M farmfoods and iceland are the cheapest. You have to shop where the poor people shop. They have the best deals

Aldi and Lidl (esp Aldi) are great shops. The quality of their stuff is just as good and often better than any of the more expensive chains. When i make it (and I nearly have) I will continue to shop there out of principle. I'm a true convert.

I went into Tesco the other day for a particular item they don;t sell in Aldi (Bisto Powder) and couldn't believe how expensive it was for everything, compared to my beloved Aldi. You're basically just handing your money over out of charity to these other supermarkets. Fuck that.

Here in Aus, they get the droppings on the floor, rejects and subpar nuts and fruits. All the frozen food is especially almost expired or from the floor. Except for their banannas, actually the best since I last shopped there.
