Im currently making about $120k per year as a fucking roofer. Our company has been trying to find employees for MONTHS, with a starting pay of $20/hour, but people like the guy in op would rather be unemployed and homeless than actually try to find a job that isn't some desk job that you need a degree to make no fucking money at.

Probably, we have locations all over north america. Just look into flatroofing companies, there's shitloads and the ones that are unionized will all have standardized pay (and raises and benefits), and if you lose your job or the company goes bankrupt the union will find you another company to work for. Its one of the last few trades that actually hires apprentices with basically no experience because no one wants to do it, but there is a red seal program that after 3 years you make a min. of $37/hr cad (where I am in Canada anyways)

But one of the reasons I make as much as I do is because I almost exclusively do out of town work which has stuff like live out allowance, tons of overtime and bonuses. If you're just working in your city making $20/hr, obviously like $40-50k is a more realistic yearly amount.

I make 55k a year working average 55 hour weeks and in 3 years have saved 15 grand on top of all of my bills(rent,utilities,food,etc). How the fuck do people have money problems?

I keep a monthly calculation of my net worth. I was at $207k on January 6, 2020. Now I'm worth over $455k. I don't have the luxury of being able to work from home but at least my career is recession and pandemic-proof.

I manage integrations and support for a small software company that automates the import of sales orders from web platforms into in-house ERP and accounting software. I'm glorified helpdesk really, and i only make just over 50k. It's also boring as fuck and i'm really sick of it, but ever since i started working from home it has become much more tolerable. I really want to get a nice chunk of money, buy a piece of land, and start a high tech automated organic farm, and start a consulting company that helps other farms set up the same way. Hoping link will take me there.
