you live in a time where trailing stops are a thing and it's easier than ever to sell portions of your position gradually some parts of the world they still force you to buy and sell in batches of 100s
It depends on your plan. If they're longterm holds or if you're just swinging those positions (are you trying to make a quick buck or build wealth). You have to make that choice before buying the stock.
On astronomically green days I usually sell 40% of my position and then re-buy the dip on said stock.
Holding big caps longterm has better returns and is safe.

I have a question on TQQQ (Proshares UltraPro QQQ). they are 3x levered bullshares on QQQ. I understand levered stocks should not be held long term because of beta decay during periods of volatility. But, feasibly, couldnt you hold them for a couple days, maybe a whole business week if the entire week is green for NASDAQ? My position has only gone up and im on about 48 hours holding. I guess my profits will get eaten if we eat shit going into the weekend. But isnt it technically ok to hold these in a prolonged bull market?
