Crypto Investing for Poors

Hi Zig Forums. Let's say, hypothetically, that I was a student with only about £15-£25 spare at the end of each week, but was looking to invest this on Coinbase. Hypothetically, what currency/currencies should I buy each week, and why?

Let's also say I could afford to let it sit and not touch it for years, if necessary

that's enough to cover the transaction fee
thanks for playing see you next week

Transaction fee is only a few quid as far as I know?

how the fuck is this duck so.. smooth?

i was implying you would actually move it out of coinbase
but idk man with 15 pounds a week..

Buy XRP. Sell at $20. Enjoy your 100x. It's your only chance of making some real money

Buy a little of ETH and XLM every week. Don't make 2 separate transactions, buy XLM by converting ETH or vise versa.

Reason? YOLO dawg. We're living on a rock hurtling towards nothing in a vast infinite universe.

Oh, thought you only need to move it out if you have a fair bit?
If it makes more sense I could easily wait until the end of each month and do £60-100ish at a time. If that would be more sensible
Thanks for the advice. Do we think it's likely to get that high?
What do you mean by convert it? Also for the sake of the hypothetical let's say I'm a total novice who only even found Zig Forums by mistake but have been reading for a few days and set up a Coinbase account
Special shampoo

XRP is the one that will rise the most. Maybe even $100 is possible. The risk reward is the best in crypto right now. Don't fall for the fud around here

don't invest just save it
investing could go up or down, but saving the money so you won't have to pay debt is 100% savings

Serious question: Why would XRP moon?

buy link and only link

chainlinkhub.com

I like the sound of that but also interested in the answer to . My understanding is it's been pretty stable for a while now right?
Ok, why link?

Because the chart says so. XRP will never go away

Based XRP schizo

When you see answers like this
Ignore them. If you ask "why should I invest my money in this?" and they pull out an extrapolated chart, and then hand wave 'the future' instead of telling you how the coin will be adopted, it's a scam.

Make sure you do coinbase it will at least give you £100 of crypto.

*coinbase earn

Thanks, looking at it now. Have to be honest though I'm not 100% sure how I get cash from it? I've been watching the videos that say "earn £2 XYZ" but then not actually earning anything?
I'm painfully new and it hurts
Lol fair so XRP isn't worth it? Worth picking up a bit just in case or nah?

I know the feel fren, I was you back in mid 2017. In last year of my degree. My advice to you is buy something now like link BTC or ETH and hold it to peak normie Como and make sure you sell. I never have any money to multiply but I learnt and went all in every month with my wage slave allowance since the bottom in early 2019

>In last year of my degree
Same here, impending need to find a job/source of income must do something to your brain lol
Sounds very familiar to be honest, and if it worked for you why shouldn't it work for me too. Thanks

use CoinMetro. Kikebase asks to much fees.

Brother! From coinbase i strongly advise you to buy MKR, it is one of ((their)) chosen coins just like chainlink.

If you ever open a binance account, i also advise you to accumulate STORJ(under 25k sats) and RVN(under 100 sats)

Hodl the chosen coins, don't believe the FUD that surrounds them and you will be a happy duck like pic related.

Knew I should have asked this before setting up an account, lol. Fees are only a couple of quid though as far as I can see?
Sweet thanks for the advice. Sats = satoshis the little bits of bitcoin right?

Yes 1 sat = 0.00000001 bitcoin
I meant to say 2.5k sats for STORJ not 25k

Each week a few quid fren :c
52 weeks x 2£ for example = 4 weeks extra saved. If you'd only have the funds to do £25 ea week.

Sweet, thanks
Good point, think I'll do it monthly rather than weekly for this exact reason but long term I'll branch out a bit and look at different places

get a job
then buy btc eth or chainlink
or all of them at once

buy and hold stuff until you can move at least 100$ to binance where you can trade for other shitcoins, coinbase fees are insane ripoff, even moving coins out costs arm and a leg

Don't deposit a few dollars each month. The CB fees will kill you. Find a better alternative in your area. Just save up some cash and do it every other month instead.

>Use faster payments to send money to coinbase (free)
>Transfer from coinbase to coinbase pro (free)
>Do market buys for your amount
>Send BTC from coinbase pro to wallet

If you want to get a bit more you can set limit buys for any dips but it is not essential. Just a note that some UK banks are funny about crypto platforms, so you might need to set up a new bank account (monzo or starling work for me and can be set up quickly.)

To put it into context, for £50 of BTC:
>The coinbase fee is £1.99
>The coinbase pro fee is £0.25

Over a year one trade a month for CB is £23.99 while for CB Pro is £3.

Note that you also have the small BTC fees for sending your money to your wallet, so you might want to think about doing bigger purchases at a time.

Obviously you can buy any other currencies but I would stick to the arguably limited CB Pro range simply for the far cheaper fees. BTC is probably your best bet (especially with such small amounts), but ETH is said to have a surge in demand due to ETH 2.0 starting in December. There are some simple options too, for example some coins generate returns on coinbase (not pro). DAI gets you 2%, XTZ gets you 4.63%, and ATOM gets you about 5%. To be honest its a can of worms, I'd just go for BTC.

As a fun bonus, there are also some free coins you can earn on coinbase.
