Get your weld certifications and shop around for a job. Travel welders and pipe welders make a lot. Don't be afraid to move or travel for work.

Trades are a meme. Even after your apprenticeship is over, it's not like you'll suddenly jump to 6 figures. In the grand scheme of things you're looking at some 10 years of financial mediocrity. Better off just taking that mcdonalds job and saving every penny for 2 years, then dumping it into stocks. After that 10 years, you'll be set compared to just getting your feet on the ground like with your trade.
