I have a conference call and maybe a few emails to send. 90 minutes of work at most. This is year 8 of work from home and this is my average day.

Since March i have completely remodeled my house while "working" from home. Today i finish the last coat of paint in the third bedroom and then im selling it.
Today i plan on working for 20-30 minutes on some emails. Feels good

I had a 10 minute meeting at 9:30 and now I have nothing to do all day. COVID has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I have gained years back on my life from stress and I’m saving a fuckton by still having my beater car that I was going to have to replace.

I’m happy for you, user. I’m in a similar boat. Not having some faggot manager watch over my every move anymore has been incredible. More time to work out, study language, and save money to invest. 2020 has been a blessed year.

Already had positive case in the office. They use the 15 minute meme now saying that if you're not within 6 ft of person for more than 15 min you can't be infected. Even though we worked together they used that as an excuse to not have anyone quarantine with positive cases at the office.

Advice on wfh career paths? I have an engineering degree and I’ve been working for two years, I hate my job. I learn pretty quickly and I’m usually pretty good at teaching myself stuff. Finance and IT seem to have decent pay and remote positions. Pls help anons, I can’t handle this shit anymore

Only recently. Watch some intro Udemy videos/classes, see if you like it. If you do, get some basic bitch certs like your Sec+ and start to look at entry level IT jobs and get some experience
getting undergrad done is always worth it IMO if you can get it paid for. some places you can't move up without a degree since the values of a bachelors is so watered down they expect everyone to have it these days

I work in financial systems. If you want to go that route, it is very niche and specialized. A lot of IT guys have no idea about accounting and finance guys are generally dumb with computers. Bridging the gap creates exploitable value and you get to work at home while you tell everyone the system is down lol.

what is your job title and your academic qualifications? i work in accounting and need a way out. i know a "little" programming but don't like it enough to become a software dev.

Look up accounting close systems and budgeting/planning systems that you can pivot towards.

IT wise, if you get your Microsoft sql server license or Oracle equivalent, recruiters will be lining out the door for you. That’s all it takes and it’s like a 4 day class you can do online. Databases are interesting too, learning them will help you with so much shit in the IT and accounting world.

I just manage some systems for a large corporation. Sorry I can’t be detailed. It’s mostly web based and handling administrative changes. I make 85k. Many days I never even have open my work laptop.
