If one of the married milfs want to bone, go for it. 100% worth it.
Do your job well, be friendly but dont joke around too much, stay the fuck out of drama as much as humanly possible. Realize this job is probably just a stepping stone but that doesnt mean it's a waste of time. Hide your autism powerlevel behind normie shit like sports or the weather. Just show up on time and be reasonably presentable and dont be a pain in the ass for your supervisor and you'll be ahead of like 70%+ of the workforce by default. If you want to be a tryhard look for ways to improve upon existing methods. Dont aim to be a perfect employee, aim to be a pleasant teammate.
Realest post right here, lots of good info. I would reiterate that being pleasant is #1
Be careful of women. They can and will get you fired by HR whoring.
>Dont aim to be a perfect employee, aim to be a pleasant teammate.
sounds like good advice. thanks user
Don’t joke with anyone until you get a better understanding of your environment. Just be friendly and a good teammate. Keep your political, economic, hobbies, and everything to yourself. Trust me. That shit can get you in trouble. There will be people there that will do everything in their power to get ahead. Stay away from them. Always be on time. Ask questions if you don’t know. Ask questions about everything. It might seem annoying but you’ll pick up things 5x faster. Don’t worry about fucking up. Literally no one expects a newbie to be decent with less than 6 months at a company.
Max 401k. Don’t buy a new car, etc. live like you are broke for at least 3 years and focus 100% of your time on getting ahead at work, saving money, and staying healthy
>Dont aim to be a perfect employee, aim to be a pleasant teammate.
this is pretty good
i also like showing up 10 minutes early when i can, and never ever late
If your company has a 401(k) match percent you should contribute up to that percent but no more. If they don’t offer a match percent don’t bother just contribute to a Roth IRA instead. If they offer an employee stock purchase program those are usually a good idea too.
You're only as cool as your wacky office socks and/or tie.
find someone above you and suck their cock stat.
One thing I find entry level people suffer with is writing emails that are too long and not to the point. As a student I didn't realise how much office work relies on email - it's more important than you think!
Another point that juniors struggle with is not being proactive with work they've been tasked with. If you have an issue, tell me about it so I don't have to worry about constantly checking up with you. And come up with at least some kind of hypothetical solution, so that I can leverage that as well. Ideally you go to your senior with something they can adjust and yes/no - not a blank slate so they have to do all the thinking again.
Finally (less relevant right now) think about establishing *presence*. Your quality of work is important, but people have to know who you are as well. Make sure to talk to people and establish rapport so that they know who they're working with. I typically try and take a shit on the floor on the first day to rectify this.
Good luck user! Happy to talk more about this as I've mentored a few new starters now.
>dont joke around too much,
can you expound on this one? i maybe joke around too much, nothing impolite or off color but telling funny stories or w/e
just started working at a FAANG
Max-out all retirement offerings before receiving the first paycheck. You won’t miss money you’ve never seen.
In 5 years once you have a pretty fat retirement stack you won’t ever go back to not accumulation maxing.
>FAANG
as a software engineer?
how? is it as hard to get in as the pajeets make it out to be?
Terrible fucking advice. I mean, obviously, max out your IRA first, but that's only $6k per year. You should be saving a hell of a lot more than that. At $50k salary, if you're paying income tax, you're doing something wrong.
>hobbies
definitely dont tell them about your shooting hobby
t. got fired after talking about shooting competition entry
enjoy the wagie cagie faggot. Dont take any retard on this boards advice channel your inner retarded lesbian. Get pissed off tell people how other people make you cry undermine everyone and laugh at your bosses jokes. You'll be ceo in 3 years
Oh and change your avatar from pepe to angry wojak
I have a BA in history. Should I become a wagie in a cagey or just become a teacher and make shit money but become unfirable and have a guaranteed pay scale?
rape the first person you see to establish dominance regardless of their gender, size, or position in the company
>how? is it as hard to get in as the pajeets make it out to be?
Are you white/asian? Male?
Unfortunately these things affect your odds, but it's not impossible in any case
Depends if you are a lesbian mulatto liberal. If so...go work at a public school.
If you are a white conservative Christian male teach in a very rural area or a conservative private school. The pay sucks but I do like my job. Just invest in crypto
Why the fuck would I not work in the public sector and get paid more, have a union, have benefits and a 403b? What the fuck are you smoking nigger
what's your job? age?
I'm jealous of the schedule teachers have
Because I’ve been there and done it.
If you are liberal go for it. If not avoid public schools. It’s basically a tyranny of power tripping lesbians and homos. Yes the money is better but that won’t mean shit when you spend your career undermining your own country with liberal propaganda
Teachers Union can kiss my ass
Don't get too comfortable. Start looking for a new job after 1-2 years
>Just invest in crypto
While this sounds like a meme, it's honestly legit advice I think lol
I'm considering quitting 160k/year software engineering because I feel like minimalism + crypto investing + the 200k and rising I already have + easy job in a cheap area and I could be good to go.
I'm not a libtard, and you're not a libtard, but you are a tard.
You realize you can teach in suburban schools that are 30m away from the city and still have 90% white kids right? Why are so obsessed with faggots? You honestly seem like a faggot. Did a power tripping dyke bully you or something?
>thinks being a public school teacher on the southside of chicago is a good way to live
Do you retards not know that suburban kids have public schools? Where I grew up everyone goes to public school. I didn't grow up in Liberia or Soutside Chicago either. What shithole are you from where you need to go to private school to live a normal life?
Flyover?
Make sure to shit your pants right when you walk in and never acknowledge it you will be CEO in a month if you do this
I taught at a suburban school with 90+% white kids. I just don’t enjoy being told what I have to teach by state exams made by commies. I also didn’t really enjoy being surrounded by leftist colleagues
If you know everything about life why did you ask for advice in the first place?
This is accurate or at least eat beans the night before and stink up your desk.
If this doesnt work, consider releasing 4 female and 1 male rat in the ducts just to create a distraction
Be sociable, you don't have to be super charismatic or the loudest/funniest guy in the room, but just enjoy getting to know people. It goes a long way and likeability is a major factor in people deciding if they want to work with you/help you out, including your bosses.
i was in your exact position 2 years ago. i came in feeling like i had made it. finally got out of college. figured id just take the check every 2 weeks and count my blessings. now im sitting here counting my btc waiting to get out. it gets old. i suggest an exit strategy from day one
Thats fair, I'm shitposting but I'm trying to get some more information as well. I really do not care about leftists, or even the broader culture war of this country. I will make it and then take my family with me away from it all.
A question because I know you are way more far right than I am. What is one instance of state school shoving 'communist' propaganda down students throat? I mean one, singular issue that you know is false that they teach kids about history?
