When since the industrial revolution has this been true in the U.S.? If anything automation means more work for the remaining workers because now they have to learn how to operate this automated systems. (e.g. management bought new data entry software so they could fire their dedicated data entry specialist, now someone else will be tasked with operating this 'laymen-friendly' data entry software).
