I’m 26 and have an intense fear of driving. I got my license when I was 18 but I’ve literally driven maybe two or three times since then. I’ve never driven alone. I actually tried to overcome this about four years ago and paid for a one-time driver’s ed refresher course. I haven’t gotten behind the wheel since then.

I’ve almost accepted that I’ll never overcome this and that I’ll never be a driver. I’ve been able to get by with public transportation and Uber. I’m a shut-in and I only need to commute to work (obviously not during this pandemic).

how can you be scared of driving? are you scared you don't have control over your feet or hands? I don't get it

I just don’t like it at all. It’s just that, anxiety, and not really needing to drive. I used to work in public accounting and would have to go to client sites a lot. I was able to take the commuter rail, bus, and Uber just fine.

Same I'm 24. Cars are heavy machinery. I'm surprised people are allowed to drive them with basically zero oversight.

Driving is dangerous and you need to focus your attention to all kinds of things. I can definitely see why some would be afraid of driving. That said, I like driving

It comes from lack of experience and anxiety. Unless you do it semi regularly it will never go away. Same thing happened to me until I got an auditing job and was in the road all the time. You either want to do it and have to make yourself or you don't.

Honestly the death toll from retards getting back on the road after a year of no driving due to lockdowns is gonna be way higher than the Coof meme.
