Our generation has now faced 3 economic recession. Highest productivity ever, worst wage growth ever, housing is unaffordable, cost of education is ridiculous and paid less than ever in existence despite being the most educated generation after Gen Z. I was living in an apartment a year ago, 1 bedroom, just me alone, for $1100/month. It was in a nice area that was close to my work so I could walk to it, and I was close to my senpai, so the money saved on using my car and the location justified it for me. I mainly got it so I could go on dates and such and not be embarrassed to bring them back to my own apartment. However, I didn't meet anyone that year. And I lost my job. It made no sense to continue wasting nearly 20 grand a year just for the opportunity to live alone to possibly have a girl over.

So I moved back in with my mom, set up the basement so it's like a small apartment, and I just live here while I'm working on trying to set up a steady stream of income for myself so I don't have to worry so much about money. I've given up on attempting to actively look for a girl right now, so it's kind of a load off of my shoulders too.

Already I've invested 10k into the market that I wouldn't have had otherwise if I was still renting that place. Shit, i wish I never moved out in the first place, I would so so much more money that I could have invested right after the crash, and be up enough to straight up buy a house now.
