i'd also like to mention that risk management is essential. whether you want to do that by DCA'ing (buy some at or near the bottom of the channel/support, with the option to buy more at some kind of interval probably based on a multiple of volatility/ATR) or using a stop loss or buying options (where your risk is the cost of premium and you lose if it expires worthless), is up to you. the key for me is i only go long, i buy stock not options, and i DCA in starting from at or near the bottom of the channel, scaling out as it goes back up and being mindful of current events around the world. worst case scenario i just have to wait longer since legit crashes are so rare. since we literally just had one this year there probably won't be another one for a whole decade.
