Yes. For a small investment like this, you probably want to be either 100% Link, or for a margin of safety (Not necessary with Link desu, but let's pretend classic economics applies to the current crypto market) then you might want 20% in either BTC or Eth, or 10% Eth, 10% BTC, 80% Link.
Again, personally, if I was only playing with a small amount like ~ $2000 I would be 100% in link.
Stretching such limited capital thin among a number of assets is playing it too safe. What is $2000? If that is a lot to you, then you need to re-assess your life - maybe get a job. If you have a job but your poor due to bills, family, whatever - then you are NGMI.
That's the honest answer. $2000 is a very small amount of money. Splitting that between various assets shows a healthy hedge against overall risk - but is only going to limit your gains.

Research Link. Research Bitcoin. Research Ethereum. And research the US Economy with particular attention to FIAT currency. An inflationary currency like the USD is doomed to fail, with the only exception being the US using it's current military advantage to bully and/or pillage the wealth of other nations - and this looks unlikely judging by the wars in the middle east. Modern warfare has become an avenue for debt, and not necessarily immediate wealth accumulation - mostly as a result of public opinion and scrutiny denying wealth be handed over to the person with the biggest stick.
This means, the inflationary nature of the USD - and thus, the world economy, is edging closer to hitting it's pre-determined self-destruct button.
How do you think a deflationary currency will fair in such an environment?
Pick one. The choice you make today will determine if you will be part of a new wealth class, or if you will be thrown into poverty with everyone else.
