not sure. there sure are a lot of xrpeepee people and its available nearly everywhere to buy. I remember when I first came into the crypto currency market I bought xrp cuz it was so cheap and some how marketing got to me about how it was faster and better than buttcoin.
I sold after a few months of learning. mostly the big amount the ripple team owns (hidden coming inflation) bothers me.
I did decide to invest in ripple tech again but went with XLM this year.
reasons:
- burned half of the supply after voting round
- great tech progress.
- Jeb dumps xrp to pump xlm
- Jeb founded both Ripple and Stelar. also Mtgox.
- XLM is not a security like XRP
- XLM was airdropped to bitcoin holders
- Also very available at many places.
but yes mostly, because theres no ripple holding 50 billion
