Ssshh, don't tell anyone, I'm only at 3.8x multiplier on the geyser. I need more time.
DEV: The next 10x
Stop it Scott. Get some help.
Hidden gem for sure. Dipped too, now is the time to buy
Actual blockchain engineer here. Building DAO frameworks and smart contracts for small DeFi projects.
I actually see no use for a decentralized github. Sounds like a useless idea.
A decentralized storage to make open source code available to all, in a decentralized manner?
Sure, use SWARM or IPFS or Filecoin.
Decentralized commits/pull requests, and versioning?
Who the fuck cares. Even a DAO does not care. Who the fuck would use that?
Someone doesn’t know anything about the open source world. If DEV captures just 5% of the total OSS market, its mcap would be $1.5B.
Let's envision 5m DEV are in circulation in this scenario (current circ supply is actually 1M). DEV would be $300 in this conservative estimate.
It’s not a decentralized GitHub, buddy. It’s tokenizing open source development on GitHub to create an economy for OSS work which is currently in terrible shape.
Most industry leaders have spoken about this problem in the open source world. See pic related: that’s exactly what DEV is doing.
I think you’re larping as a blockchain engineer or just plain stupid, nice try.
"Someone doesn’t know anything about the open source world."
Yeah, right.
For fuck sake I'm a dev for 11 years now.
Still haven't said WHY would DEV captures any % of the Open source market.
I only see DAOs "needing" to have their "codebase" evolving in a decentralized manner, but in the end only the results matters. Whether it's centralized or not, the new modules/microservices will be implemented then integrated by a DAO after some kind of decision making.
But yeah just tell me I know nothing, it will probably be alright
but why would I need to buy tokenized github open source code when I can just copy/paste it?
> It’s not a decentralized GitHub, buddy. It’s tokenizing open source development on GitHub to create an economy for OSS work which is currently in terrible shape.
It is a decentralized github. If you put a token economy to pay/finance open source developers in a decentralized fashion, you are decentralizing what matters about Github.
It's just a marketplace, again. And again, I don't see why ANY company would use that, and therefore why dev would capture any % of the market. It's like an alternative to ICOs to fund devs to work on a project. Nothing very innovative or needed. (We have ICBOs now and they are fucking efficient)
Small side projects, why not. Nothing that matters.
THIS
If you hold this shitcoin you deserve to be poor, it's useless, pure speculation.
