did anyone else here get fucked by shit parents? i didnt know anything about investing until just now because my parents were poor and dont care about anything. my dad watched jim cramer and just laughed whenever he made a funny noise and never learned anything.

i saw this post where this dudes dad invested in stocks 10 years ago and forgot and just opened up a portfolio randomly with 80k in it. my dad just smoked cigarettes and drank beer he never invested a dollar. i live in utter poverty in a shit hole 40 miles from anything. i never got help buying a car, or going on vacations, or bieng happy or do anything. all i got was a computer to sit in my room all day and it made me fucking miserable i just wanted to be normal.

My dad was investing, but my mother was nagging him so much, that he had to stop. As much as he had average returns, if he'd hodl what he was planning, he could get like 100x. Women are the cancer of this society. I'll never marry.

my parents literally dont even have a house though. we live in a 300 year old shitbox with no upgrades. always cold in the winter. everything is mess because everyone just gave up because god hates us and makes all of our life hell, the windows are covered in chipped paint and cracked and stained and shit.

my mom works at a bank and taught me early to never take consoomer loans with shit interest rates and how investing works, and the importance of saving money. when i was like 13 she showed me a site where you could buy stocks with fake money for fun so i knew how that stuff works and when i became 18 i got access to index funds my parents had put money into since i was a kid. we talk crypto sometimes but she doesn't really know much about it. feels good man

Yeah, I haven't spoken to my dad in 10+ years, don't even know where he lives or if he's even alive. Fuck those toxic people though, you are your own person, build a new family and meaningful relationships based on positive values instead. You can do it without them, you have to. No excuses, you have to win.

its took me 10 years then the average person to move out because of this shit. i tried getting jobs and they kept stealing my checks saying the lights or power were gonna go out if i didnt. i got addicted to drugs and then that fucked all my money. i still have never had a car. i finally have like 15k and im trying to invest it and failing.

My mother recently said to my father, that he destroyed her dream of ever having home (they have a flat). While it's actually the other way around.

You will find when he dies he probably has a secret family, secret hobby that is a money sink, or he is just lying that he has no savings.

I had a basically perfect childhood until I was 7 years old. We took a vacation every year, my parents were lively hopeful and happy. They both had good jobs. Then my drunk idiot dad got drunk and smashed his car into a tree and turned my mom's spine into dust. Since then life has been hell.

Can’t relate. My family was middle class but here’s how it went for me.

i didnt know about stocks. i thought you had to be some super genius who studies it for 4 years and goes to college for it and then just gamble with money and most people leave money.

i didnt know i could just put money in adobe and apple and amazon over the years and it would of gone up 10x

My dad died of autoerotic asphyxiation and was sleeping with tenants and doing crack. They're all greasy spics. Id just take them over but he left them in pretty shit condition and my mom is forcing me to get the tenants kicked out which is no easy task and I don't believe they're all dishonest. But my mom basically turns into a lunatic over everything.

Whatever I'll just be rid of it all and go back to trying to make it.

ive been watching videos of investors on youtube and theyre talking about buying their kids shares of amazon and people getting stocks from their grandparents that have like tripled plus everyone is getting an inheritence and house from their parents. im the only one. my friend was from a rich suburb and he says all his friends live in 600,000 dollar houses, get cars at 16, vacation every year, grandparents pay for college, hooked up with good jobs. meanwhile im fucking miserable. everyone where i live is poor as dog shit and no one has a penny

i live rural its infinitely worse then being in a 3rd world city. plus my roof leaks when it rains, house is cold all winter, everything is dark and dirty, my entire house is a mess, i sleep on a floor in a storage room surrounded by garbage.

My parents lost like two apartments on mortages after the economy in our coutry took a big hit post 2008 and my dad built a big house in the middle of fucking nowhere that now sits completel uninhabited for years because he is in a asylum due to needing constant medical care due to his mental and physical decay. Basically even if he were to sell that house somehow he would never recover the money he put in. Waste, a complete waste.

All in all I would estimate a $250k-$300k or so loss. Now we are all poor as fuck.
