Okay, I'm not a tax professional just someone who has had complex tax seasons -- capital gains, capital losses, etc -- and lived to tell the tale. I'm also American, so most, though not all, of my tax experience comes from there. That in mind, here's how I'd answer that: the US tax code allows you to file for extensions. So if, say, you sold on 22 Dec 2020 and it was a moon moneyshot, you wouldn't necessarily have to file on the April deadline. Your tax professional could file for an extension and that extension can run through the rest of the calendar year at least. So that gives you time to build your team. Just do everything above the board, keep your paperwork, and again talk to professionals.
