$500 a month, what coin?

I got 500usd a month to invest into crypto, what are safe Long term coins to hold, minimum 3-5 years?
Should i Just throw 500 a month at eth and btc?
What is a good plan?

You need a minimum $5k starting point if you want to "make it". You might as well put that $500 towards something that makes your life easier.

ETH and BTC are your safest bets. More upside with ETH. Everything else is pretty risky imo, but once you have a good amount in those two you can think about some riskier bets.

If you truly want a buy and forget it, you need to just focus on bitcoin. I'm sure you'll want to gamble on alts like every other degenerate but bitcoin is the only coin back at its all time high while everything else that pumped in 2017 is still down like 80%. Just play maybe 10% in alts and focus on accumulating bitcoin and learning

Buy a hardware wallet and learn how to run your own node paired with your device

Listen to bitcoin podcasts like tales from the crypt, stephan livera, bitcoin audible

Read developer mailing lists and github pull requests for bitcoin core and lightning instead of pump and dump shitcoin whitepapers

Increase knowledge around bitcoin and lightning tools. Eventually setup lightning node paired with your full node and start playing around with automated channel management, lightning pool, sub swaps, eventually dlcs, etc. Or just go super simple and stack lightning sats on phoenix or breez wallet by using strike to pay fold/bitrefill invoices

Bitcoin is in a halfing season — price is certain to increase. If you want a sure thing, Bitcoin. If you want a slightly less sure thing — Eth. Eth 2.0 is rolling out which should add tons of growth to the network. If you want a bit of a risk, ADA. Cardano is likely to overtake eth or even bitcoin as the most usable blockchain but is currently vaporware. Chainlink probably should be avoided at this point.

Why not 250 in each every month? I don't think it matters too much long term how you structure it if your plan is still 50/50 to each anyway.

First month should be to buy a hardware wallet with part of that 500 bucks. I would focus on bitcoin almost entirely because i am 100% confident it will still be around in 10 years. If you want to put a little in ethereum go for it i guess but if you listen to the rest of my advice you will end up becoming a bitcoin maximalist who is immune to investing in alts

It'll have to be an undervalued ICO. Anything else is just a guessing game. The problem is finding space because everyone else sees these x10s or x20s and has the same idea.

You can definitely get some nice things with that start, probably even a car, but for a house or even retirement you need to risk more.

I'd recommend keeping some ETH exposure just as much as i'd recommend bitcoin exposure. With ETH you bet on blockchain tech. With bitcoin you bet on the "feeling" of blockchain/the digital gold narrative. Both are important

The smartest answer is to park you money in the bank account, buy when crypto prices are low. Any money you put into bitcoin right now you'll lose because its inevitably going to drop, when it drops thats when you buy.

If you want to just passively invest I don't think crypto is for you, its more seasonal. ETF's and Index funds are best for passive investments.

Personally if I were you, I'd invest that $500 into Tesla for the time being, maybe XRP or Chainlink if you are more of a gambler.
