Car Minimalism

What are your thoughts on living out of a car as a permanent lifestyle? Do we have any veterans here?

It seems to be the most efficient way to financial independence (not having to work) other than "house hacking" with loans.

Bump, I wanna move over to america and have been mulling over the idea of buying a second hand van and living in the back of it

I lived in a van with 2 other people for a few years. Pretty easy if you’re young. Walmart and Steak ‘n Shake parking lots are your friend.

If you're alone and bought a big enough van that you could trick out with some work and storage space, then it is totally possible. Just avoid shitty areas where nogs will mug and rape you, stay mostly in woodland areas.

I want to smell her armpits. Who is this Jewish goddess?

Uber faggot youtuber but she is absurdly good looking

I did this last year while starting my company. I bought 2 Chrysler town and country vans off Craigslist. Usually like $3k. Dodge Caravans are exact same. Also bought an RV but I left it in another state.

Did you like it?

hate to break it to you anons...

I don't hate it

Depends on climate. You’ll be miserable and might die sleeping in a vehicle in snowy weather

Just buy a used camper trailer for like $10k, you'd only do this if you already had a car and can not afford food

Yeah. Best place I went to this year was Flagstaff, Arizona but I took my RV up there.
It's a simple life. I recommend it if you're trying to make something of yourself. You get bored and youre always outside and you wake with the sun every morning.

Based where did you stay? National parks?

That was for work. Black Barts RV Park. Very nice. Can see the stars at night, fresh air, no nogs, etc. Good energy in that town.

Get a Tesla. Only option that makes sense.

Haven't lived out of a car but I've lived mostly by what I could carry in a backpack for six months and occasionally staying at hostels to use their plumbing (cross country hiking)... If you are young OP and inclined to try it, there's no reason why you shouldn't... You don't have to commit to it, just try it.

In a car, the cops will just hassle you everywhere.
I'd rather invest in an RV trailer and boondock it somewhere.

veteran here
better then sleeping on concrete
still hell on earth

me on the left

Since Covid the cops don't care so much..about anything.

Cop here. We have orders to lay off proactivity at my department. Unless it's related to a 911call arrests are not being made, and we're limiting interactions.

If you were to go somewhere like CA are you likely to be mogged by nog's? The main reason I'm interested in a van is because it would save a fuckton compared to renting a shit box apartment in silicon valley or something

If I was that desperate I'd just go with a used van.

looks comfy

It's fucking rough

I lived out of a truck with a camper shell for several months. What do you want to know?

He’s talking about “living” as in going to work/school. Not traveling.

It's pretty easy to tell if you shouldn't be parking there, as far as joggery. Never park on a street with Swisher wrappers around

How did you survive the winter or being hassled by other people (homeless or police)?

It seems like just about any building can be used for bathrooms (pooping/grooming/sponge baths/changing clothes), electricity, wifi, phones (as in wifi calling or just borrowing their phone), cold water and hot water (for thermos cooking and hot water bottles). If the bathroom in a single person stall, I can do bodyweight workouts in there too.

I can hand wash and hang dry laundry in my vehicle.

Am I forgetting anything?

Get a camp stove. Real talk

I honestly think it wouldn't be that bad if there was a realistic way to deal with the heat

>What are your thoughts on living like a poor person as a permanent lifestyle.
against this obviously

I don't want to die in a fire though.

Only if it has 3 doors and you park it in a trailer park, anything else is just sad.

If you have a van or cargo trailer you can insulate and build in cooling fans, some even have small aircons. Car would only work if you're a manlet who can pay for spinal surgery and the weather is perfect all year round.
