This is a cool LARP and all but Monero is a two billion dollar network. With Tor, your incentive as a private individual is maybe being able to see other people's browsing habits idk. With Monero, if you break it's privacy millions of dollars are potentially on the table. That attracts a whole different breed of greedy, people who will constantly analyze it for potential attack vectors because the reward is worth it.

Much like Tor the feds likely do have a way to trace it but it's inconvenient, resource intensive, and generally not neccesary.
If the glowies wanted to show you laundering they'd just say "Coinbase says 200k of Monero suddenly appeared in your account, care to explain this". No trace needed and no judge on earth will side when you say "I lost it in a boatng accident"
