i've calced out total payments. it's something like $185k in payments + $43k tax on loan forgiveness which is $228k total. if i did a 10 year repayment it would be $1700 x 120 = about $200k. so it's """saving me""" $28k over a 10 year period which is nothing when you consider i wouldn't be able to save for a house down payment, fund my retirement, live life, etc.
