Why don't we just have a regressive tax and reward those who work hard?

back to the cage wagie

because your argument assumes social mobility is economically efficient, that all people have access to the same quality education, public services, finance, eating etc etc. The point of a progressive tax system is that richer people would contribute more to government so government could provide the means for lower economic classe to wove upwards. If the government does that in an efficient manner or not, that's a whole different question

Also, if you overtax poorer people, you're going to fuck up with consumption, which is one of the pillars of western economies as well.

Poor people shouldn't be blowing their money like that anyway.

In America this is literally, unironically the way our tax system works.

Pay your tax's friend, i'm not going to ask you twice.

>Assuming the 1% works hard
Jesus Christ you’re retarded.

Please delete this my gov will read it and think it's a great idea

Must of us are rich thanks to poor people being dumb.

Hey retard, do you not understand that the current economic system is based on consumerism.
If poor people don't purchase the goods, then the company doesn't have the money to pay their CEO 2 mil and their workers 20k.
Everyone loses, but the rich lose more.
