Deleted mine last year, same with Facebook (which is still there though if I were to log in). I'm social network free, unless you count Steam as one.

HR here, I have to use this website a lot for hiring and I restrain myself from shitposting in replies constantly. I follow some trolling accounts to make it better, but yeah, even though it's a useful hiring tool the timeline is 100% shit.

My dad sits on it and comments, likes shit all day long. I don't get it, but he has learned how to game the system pretty well and move in his field over the years.

I work at a financial firm and we have a bunch of tier III helpdesk support Pajeets. I found them all on LinkedIn and they call called themselves "Systems Engineers" and "IT Associate Engineer" and shit like that.

Low and mid tier normies were noticing workplace OGs getting attention and respect when some of them posted very empathetic and dedicated things. Back then there were not many posts of this kind and people actually meant it.

Normies then started to copy that style of post and now use it as kind of a humble brag to demonstrate high social IQ and prestige at the workplace.
2017 was when this kind of behaviour took off due to network effects.
