Welcome to XMR General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading privacy-coin! Because Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, people can easily send money despite corrupt and broken governments or banks. This provides economic empowerment of individuals in oppressive countries or depressed economies. Private financial history protects consumers and companies from price manipulation, supply chain exploitation, economic discrimination, or the like. Monero is the only cryptocurrency that has the features to serve as completely fungible, decentralized, electronic cash. If you're new, feel free to ask any questions you like and a Monero Chad will be with you shortly.
FAQ >Why doesn't Monero pump? Recency bias. Monero pumped in September and October when nothing else was pumping, and during the Bitcoin rally it has held its USD value. Currently the Bitcoin ratio is highly undervalued and is due for an appreciation, so now is the time to accumulate. There is also reason to believe that price suppression may be ongoing, and if true, would indicate that a sharp upward correction is likely in the future. >What is the best way to get Monero without KYC? - Local Monero is a service to directly connect you with people selling Monero. Otherwise, you will need to buy Bitcoin and then move that Bitcoin through a medium without kyc, such as a coinswap service (morphtoken), a centralized exchange (kucoin, tradogre), or a p2p application (Bisq). If you are confused about this and need help, a Monero chad can walk you through the steps. >I just read _____ that says Monero can be traced. Is it over? No. Monero can not be directly traced. To date, there has never been a directly traced Monero transaction. What could realistically happen is an adversary can pick up metadata that a Monero user may unknowingly leak when doing a transation. For example, If you purchase Monero on a KYC exchange and then transfer off of an exchange, the metadata that the KYC exchange would store is the date and time you sent Monero, the amount of Monero you sent, the Monero address you sent Monero to, and the IP address that you are logged in. Monero does not prevent metadata, so be aware of this.
Can someone redpill me on Monero Classic? Why has it pumped recently like crazy?
Oliver Wood
Monero Classic has such bad liquidity that you could move the price a couple hundred percentage points if you invested any meaningful amount. Not that you would, since it's a dead scam chain.

So Monero chads, here is a question of the day: How do you plan to navigate investing in Monero (and other crypto) over the next few months?
Asher Bell
Keep DCAing into XMR/BTC/ETH/LINK.
Maybe pick up some LTC and RSR for the memes.
Oliver Cox
hey XMR bros. been considering picking up a bag recently.. does buying XMR from a KYC exchange make it redundant? Should I be exclusively be looking to get XMR from a non KYC exchange?
Gabriel Stewart
this is my exact plan desu bought a small stack of PNK too, to join in on the shitposting fun
The exchange will be able to see the address you send it out to, but if you use a subaddress, or a burner wallet, that won't help them track it much. Still, they would know that you purchased Monero and sent it to a private wallet, but they would have no idea what you did with it.
Brandon Wilson
This sounds pretty solid. I only DCA into Monero because of how undervalued it is and how much I like it, but if the ratio does swing upward I will probably put money into Eth. Then I'll just swing trade between XMR, ETH, and BTC depending on which ratio is doing the best. It's been pretty hard resisting fomo. My next DCA is scheduled for next wednesday but I've held on for now lol.
Levi Ortiz
and they would also know the amount I assume? which is redundant for 'tax purposes in minecraft' right?
Jonathan Ortiz
Withdrawing Monero from an exchange is like withdrawing cash from an ATM. The exchange will know that you withdrew Monero but that's it. They have no way of knowing where that Monero goes subsequently. KYC exchanges provide information to the government. So if you are buying large sums of crypto on KYC exchanges, then you will get a letter from the IRS if you are doing big crypto to crypto trades.

Monero is a honeypot, buy GRIN instead.

the best answers in this thread. get a comfy BTC/ETH/XMR stack and swing between them (not all the time, i'm talking on a quarterly time frame). for example, dca into eth this summer was key, then dca out into btc in august. btc pumps in the fall, you should take those profits and put them back into eth right now. eth always bleeds against btc in Q4 and always gains in Q1.

to the uninitiated: NPCs are incapable of understanding or holding a comfy unknown amount of XMR. they truly believe that government has to issue money (see: all the NPCs that support MMT).
austrian economist chads and libertarians know the true potential of a technology such as XMR. be patient, dollar cost average, and you will see good returns.
in the last market cycle, a portfolio of BTC/ETH/XMR @ 50/35/15 would have optimized your portfolio wrt the sharpe ratio, thereby maximizing your risk-adjusted returns.
Levi Adams
yeah man. But of course I want to maximize my profits so the question is, where will the market go over the next three months? I think we are going to retest the 20 week moving average but it definitely seems like institutional money is coming in because this recent pump has been crazy. I've been dcaing for the past year and my monero stack is beautiful but I still have like another 25% of funds to move. pretty spot on, however I am a firm believer that Monero will out perform Bitcoin this cycle. It is highly undervalued and in a speculative bubble I believe people will flock to it because of its tech and the surge in adoption.

Understood, enlightening, ty fren

np user. it's why long term Monero will likely be allowed on more on ramps because it's the only way for governments to keep track of it.
Jordan Turner
what will you edgelords do if your government bans privacy coins? don't be acting too tough in your replies will you 'chads' (incels)

>Withdrawing Monero from an exchange is like withdrawing cash from an ATM. Okay what about withdrawing monero from a KYC exchange?
Levi Bell
How would they ban it? And under what pretext that could not also be applied to fiat USD?
