Richfag here, I make 7 figures, AMA
Why are you gey?
You'll have to excuse the faggot above me - it's the weekend, and kids are also doing at home studies so they find their way to our boards occasionally.
What do you do for a living , what sort of business or real estate, investment etc?
Did you get here by hard work, luck, or maybe born in a good family?
Why does my poo sometimes have a nuttier texture on certain days despite my consistent diet?
Is coffee good for you?
Where do babies come from?
What the fuck do you do faggot
This was an enthralling AMA!!
I’m a data scientist, work for Ubisoft Montreal, I’ve also been investing since I was 20yo
I was born middle class, some luck is part of it but hard work goes a long way. Most degrees are kinda useless but some of the essentials are math, stats, finance, and maybe economics. Work hard to acquire skills everyone wants.
Coffee is fine, but I don’t drink it black
Sorry for getting back so late
Nice that's cool , congrats on being wise and prudent man.
Thanks for the answer. And how many years of career took you to get to those 7 figs?
how can i make 7 figures as a 20 year old? i don't need that money when i'm 40, it has to be now.
That doesn't answer my question!
Has to be now? Bank robbery
Does living in Canada rich suck?
It’ll be different for everyone I’d imagine. I started working at 17 and broke a million at 39, so you could say about 22 years
Aside from winning the lottery? Make something super useful and streamlined that everyone wants. But that’s obviously easier said than done. There’s no “easy” way to make money.
Well I’m in a pretty high tax bracket, but I like Canada. I have a pretty good accountant that helps me do a lot of tax avoidance. But what gets taxed less is dividends, as in investing, trading, etc. Pretty much everyone I know in my tax bracket does that.
Nice. All right thanks, and have a good one, or whatever you richfags are having
Any advice for someone who makes ~100k from software engineering job and wants to get into investing as well ? I started off with an entry level job and worked my ass off to get to a good company where I can comfortably increase my salary even further. But I want more than just that, I read you are into investing. How exactly does one get started really ? What are you doing Stocks or Crypto ?
There are different apps you can use for investing. The one I use is wealthsimple trade. It’s very easy to use and doesn’t require you talking to bankers or anything. Also, you’re making a good amount of money. You want to become an important asset to your company, the type of person they can’t afford to lose. Lots of people in these high earning positions are a lot more valuable than they may realize. I’m not saying you should threaten to leave unless they double your pay or anything, only that you should know your worth and know which places would pay the most to have someone like you.
It’s kinda hard to give you any non-generic advice since I don’t know your circumstances. But since you want to get into investing, build a diverse portfolio (as in don’t put all your eggs in one basket) and keep a separate account for your investing money. I started investing about 10$ a month when I was younger and built up from there.
Lastly, don’t waste money on things you don’t need. Like, don’t buy first class if you have to travel, or eat out all the time. People who get rich and the ones who don’t care to show everyone how rich they are.
are you a data scientist like anna nyulund or do you actually have to code?
Why don't you send me 10 ETH to prove to us you are rich?
>What are you doing Stocks or Crypto ?
nigga where do you think you are
There's a ton of us NEETs here who have hundreds of thousands, if not hit the million line from this anonymous Iranian book cover censoring imageboard.
Of course you get into crypto. Smart contracts are the next evolution of the internet.
What advice would you give a 17 year year old about finance, how much should I invest, in what stocks, what kind of degree will be very useful in the future etc
Bumperino
>Coffee is fine, but I don’t drink it black
opinion discarded
Bump
Impossible for me to say what stocks you should invest in or how much. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all formula, plus I’m not clairvoyant so there are no guarantees. I bought some of air canada and united airlines when their stocks went down due to covid, with the expectation that they’d be bailed out and spike back up, but that’s just me. But you’re still 17 so I wouldn’t worry about big investments or anything just yet. Try to find people who are into this stuff and study what they’re doing. Start small.
If you do indeed want to get a degree, the most valuable ones IMO are math and stats. You can get a lot of different jobs in the private sector with just these credentials. Employers value someone who can do math and work a computer far more than someone who only has a business degree. I’d specifically recommend taking courses in real analysis, mathematical statistics, and linear programming.
Es-tu un pure-laine une criss de tête carrée ou encore pire, un nègre?
Also, is wealthsimple our best alternatives to robinhood or is there something better.
>coffee
STFU. You take it black, like your girl
